Turkish national team
Just heard it on sports newsbrief-no surprise I guess.
Which team(s) would be in line for his services?
Chris Broussard from ESPN said he expects the Pistons to sign both Turkoglu, and, if he opts out, Boozer.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Golden State Warriors need a center if they trade Biedeins.![]()
The only team that I know with a lot of money to throw around is Detroit.
chris "i have an annoying accent" brousard said there is no shot hedo is back with the magic. if thats true the magic are stupid. they made a lateral move with VC
If Hedo doesn't come back, then the Magic downgraded, they lost Courtney Lee. Rafer was doing good until Jameer came and ruined him.
I agree.
Hedo is a wildly talented basketball player but also wildly erratic and inconsistent. Moreover, he makes poor decisions in crunch time. Even when he makes big shots and even game winners, often times, they are horrible shot selections for a number of reasons, fade-away, long jumpers, contested, not taking into consideration time management, things like that. And, even in the playoffs, for every very good game he had, he would have an equally horrible game where he'd go 3-for-13, 1-for-11, 3-for-12 and it was often because he'd continue to take bad shots.
Vince Carter is not a perfect player, but he'll give you consistent scoring. And when his shot is off, he will attack the basket. And, while he's not the smartest player either, he's got a high basketball IQ compared to Hedo. Vince can also play point forward. He played PG for the Nets at times. He has the handle, the vision, and the ability to play some point forward. He's actually similar to Hedo in that regard, versatility. He's just a few inches shorter.
But, you trade for his more consistent and more explosive scoring ability. Matching up against a Kobe or a LeBron, Vince will put up 30-35 a game in a playoff series. He won't have multiple games where he only scores 10-12 points in a series. And, he still has enough athleticism to be a better defender than Hedo.
Losing Courtney Lee is tough, but you trade something to get something. Whatever Hedo would have ended up making, Hedo + Lee might have been a better value than Vince Carter at his salary, but I don't think the both of them combined are better than Vince Carter. They still have Pietrus that can slide into the starting small forward role. They would just need to add some depth.
I think Hedo is a really good player, but I'd take Vince over Hedo every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
I never liked the VC (half-men half-assed) trade in the 1st place anyway; losing Alston and Lee was too much in my opinion
I think the magic have a very strong first unit, but not really anything on the bench. Losing Hedo, Rafer, and Courtney Lee is a bigger loss than the addition of Vince Carter.
