    3. (T) Miami-24-12
    3. (T) Seattle-24-12
    5. Dallas-16-11
    6. (T) Houston-18-15
    6. (T) Chicago-18-15
    8. Detroit-17-15
    9. Sacramento-18-18
    10. Boston-18-19
    11. Indiana-15-17

    14. Minnesota-17-21
    15. Philadelphia-14-19
    16. Memphis-11-17
    17. Washington-13-21
    18. Cleveland-11-18
    19. LA Clippers- 13-23
    20. New York-11-21
    21. New Jersey-12-23
    22. Toronto-13-26
    23. LA Lakers-10-23
    24. Milwaukee-9-24
    25. Golden St.-9-25
    26. Utah-9-29
    27. Portland-9-30
    28. Charlotte-6-30
    29. New Orleans-6-32
    30. Atlanta Hawks-4-28

I highlited some of the intriguing ones:
San Antonio-Well, I'm surprised that our record is the best after the recent losses to good teams. It's good to know we have a chance to beat them AT HOME, if not on the road.
Chicago-TIED FOR SIXTH?!?!?!? This team is just getting better and better.
Detroit-Not as good as you would expect from the defending champs, but since everyone is out to beat them, I don't blame them.
    LA Lakers-Just for laughing purposes

And this is skewed by Tim going down vs. Miami and not playing Suns last time.

or even 27- 7 or 26-8 or 25-9 or 29-5 or 30-4 or 31-3 or 32-2 or 33-1...damn, the Spurs could have won every game this year and been the first team to go 82-0.....

    Solid_Dumb , Jim's being silly. I'm not silly.

I have this apparently ridiculous, hallucinatory expectation that the Spurs should beat lottery teams, home or away. It's hard enough to handle the better teams without giving away games to lottery dreck.

boutons, it is impossible to play your best day in day out.

The reg season is long, it is gruelling, and it is normal to have nights when you just do not feel like playing your hardest. It is just like you at work, sometimes, you do not feel like you can give your best, am I right?

The Spurs are always at or near the top of the conference and that is more than most people can ask for.

Sometimes, you see a team on your schedule and you mentally take the night off because you think that you can win w/o giving 100%, but there is not a whole lot of difference betw the top teams and worst teams as far as overall talent. Usually it is menatl toughness and intensity that separates the best from the bad.

Imperfection is normal. Any team can beat any team on a given day.

I agree with Jim, 82 games is alot! Even one the best of the best wil lose to one of the worst of the worst in an 82 game season. Case in point, MIA vs CHA!

That was what I said, only you were much more succinct, SolidD.

boutons, I agree with you that great teams like the Spurs should beat lesser capable teams or "lottery teams"...but the key word is should. Sometimes a team is riding high and playing really well (see Golden State) and sometimes the Spurs' players just don't have it matchups-wise or energy-wise, or some other intangible reason.

Why did the World Champion Boston Red Sox get swept by the inferior Texas Rangers in a 3-game series late in the season? Sometimes...stuff happens.
