2k9 only rewards dunking. RJ gets to the line quite a bit. You updated them yourself right? I got Blair and Gist on my squad.
so i played as the spurs on the updated roster yesterday on 2k9. not that a video game determines how good a team is by any means cuz it's just a dumb game, but the spurs were definitely unstoppable.
i played against boston, la, orlando, and cleveland all on hard mode and spurs won by atleast 10 every time. rj had 20 pts. a game. it was great, i just hope that the video game is right...

yah, it was kind of updated automatically with mahinmi and hairston, but i traded everybody for rj. does it automatically put the rookies on???
2k is no longer updating the rosters. I downloaded Gist and Blair under "create a player/ download player DNA" .
when you say that, does it mean forever or just for a while?
oh, so what is blair's rating? i didn't keep up with him in ncaa so i don't know much about him
If you look hard enough you can find a completed rosters (all Off Season trades and the draft) to download for 2k9. First one I downloaded had all the pieces. Then I edited the players and contracts myself. (guy who did it originally had every first round prospect with a 99 potential and 80+ rating. sigh)

I have him at 82. When I downloaded it he was a 89.
The biggest problem were the contracts (I pretty much only play Association.) All the rookies had 3-4 years at 10m per.
Took maybe 30 minutes to adjust all the rookie ratings/salaries.
I've been wondering how to get Gist and Blair on the roster. I'm gonna try to get them right now.
Is there any way to get McClinton on there?
I'll admit to being utterly biased when it comes to editing Spurs. But I think I got Blair/Mcclinton right.
Blair at 76 to start the season and mcclinton at 71. By the start of the '10 season in association I had Blair getting 25mpg- 7pts 8reb on 48% shooting. And Mcclinton playing 8-12mpg as a backup shooter getting 5pts 1.5ast on 51% 3pt.
Picked up Mcdyess in FA 09 off season to play 25mpg as the starter next to duncan... Love the look of the team.

2k stops updating rosters once the season ends. It's a good business decision.
I found a player model under "download DNA" he was rated 99 though.
I rated Blair an 80. He's there based on his rebounding and post D stats. ( I had to make him a good defender in the post. In 2k, tall players own all.)

it's ing annoying on this game to have Oberto and Bowen on the starting lineup... they miss layups wide open... they NEVER make them... if you forget to put Manu in as a starter and get rid of Oberto you lose...
Your rosters are out of date, and lineups can be changed.
I cant make the lan connection work on my PS2...
I don't think the PS2 version has updates.
i played blair the other day... stat like was something like this; 30mins/39pts/16rbs and some other too. rj is a beast on drives to the hoop!
I honestly can't seem to play with the Spurs for some reason, I use all the plays, put in the best possible lineups and just nothing.
Manu honestly misses nearly every layup I take with him and sometimes TP does some fancy when he's on the fast break and completely misses, why is this?
Tweak the sliders.
I've found the best way to use Manu is to play good D.
Force a turnover and attack the rim with Manu on fast breaks; I get "and 1's" almost every time.
On half-court plays, double-tap the dribble bouton, you'll have better looks when trying to slash.
With TP, just press the turbo
