Peel police are seeking the public's help after a truck carrying more than 1,300 Xbox gaming consoles valued at approximately $780,000 was stolen in Mississauga Sunday morning.

Police say four to five suspects dressed in dark clothing entered a trailer yard near Britannia Rd. E and Dixie Rd shortly after 4 a.m. They attacked a security guard who was subsequently dragged under a parked trailer with his hands and feet tied together.

The suspects stole a 16-metre 2007 Air-Ride trailer, bearing the Ontario licence plate C11-47X and trailer identification number 55334. The trailer is black in colour, with "Trans-Send Freight Systems" in silver lettering.

The security guard received minor injuries and is expected to fully recover.

Investigators are warning the public to use caution if they are offered the chance to purchase a new Xbox gaming console under su ious cir stances. Police warn that anyone found with stolen property could be charged.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Commercial Auto Crimes Unit at 905-453-2121 ext. 3313 or anonymously at Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS.

Microsoft should know what are the serials on that shipment.
You know every XBox 360 is tagged, right? How do you think they identify which hacked boxes to blacklist from live?

The police would have a hard time arrest individuals who buy it, especially if these robbers slowly sell this off a place like craigslist.

it doesnt matter they will catch the end users who is in posession of stolen property, each console has a serial and when a console phones home this is sent to the live servers as well as the ip address. Its basically like gps to your doorstep. If you don't think Microsoft is gonna come after these stolen 360's then please give me some of those drugs you are on.

The only thing the police has to do is knock on a door and ask who they bought the console from. This is stuff that happens all the time when they're catching crooks selling stolen on ebay.
This particular case is like trying to get rid of marked bills.
