I s'pose that depends on what he is intending to be. If he is trying to make friends or actually discuss basketball in an objective way then he would be going about that absolutely ass-backwards, which would lend to the idea that he's stupid. If he is trying to piss-take indiscriminate NBA fans, be a massively vile homer to inflate the egos of Laker trolls and make cases off nothing but his own personal opinion in order to gain attention (er, something like that), then he could be very smart. I find it a bit of a toss up.
