Quick 360 question

I know that if you transfer your ID, go offline, earn an achievement, then transfer back, you won't keep your achievements.

Does the same apply if you have your original HD with all your achievements at a different location offline... then transfer your ID to a different xbox at a different location and earn achievements there?

Will the achievements I earn carry over when I hook my original xbox to live?

I confused myself. It looks like this:

xbox online: xbox offline: got achievements: went to friends house: want to transfer my ID to another xbox: am wondering if the achievements i got in step 3 will still be there and if the achievements i get now will still be there when i hook the original 360 online.

All you have to do is recover your Gamer Card. The achievements are from XBL, not you're HD. Thats why they never save when offline.

so the achievements i got last night will be invalid if i transfer my tag to my current location?

If you were hooked up to XBL @ your friends house they should have saved to XBL, however I don't understand if you transfered your Tag from your HD or from XBL

Also when you saw me earlier i was browsing from my phone and I can't seem to post from my phone

I was online yesterday so I have my points fairly up to date. I went offline though and earned 100 or so points.

I'm at my friends house now and want to transfer my tag over here. I just want to know what the consequences (if any) i face.

I don't think you'll lose them. They will not appear while you're at your friends house (obviously) but they should appear to your XBL account whenever you sign back in online with your own xbox - the achievements just won't have a date you achieved them - it'll say achieved offline.

The only thing I would think could supersede that was if you transfered your GT back to your own xbox after being at your friends house and it might overwrite anything - but I can't think of any reason you'd do that as long as the friends xbox is online and it's registering any achievements there.

ok... so im gonna assume that the achievements i earn here are just going to merge with the achievements ive earned whilst offline at my xbox.

if you recover your tag from XBL it will only give you the points you had since the last time you were on xbl. You'd lose the 100. If you just took your HD and are using the profile on that you should be fine.


I you are recovering your id from xbl for Whatever Achievements you earn at your friends house make sure he's

A)connected to xbox live before you leave, and that your online profile is updated before you leave and B) you recover your tag back to your original xbox when you get home beore earning any other achievements
