Hey, my friend Angelbelow and I were thinking about going to the vegas summer league games on the 18th and 19th since the spurs play on both of those days. I was wondering if I could get some opinions from you guys if I should go or not. I've been hearing about this Dejuan Blair contract negotiation fiasco, and I was wondering if this will hinder his ability to play on the 18th and 19th. What do you guys think?

He's signed a contract already. So there will be no more negotiation fiascos. However, I don't know if he will still sit out or play in the SL.

Tickets are 50% off I believe. That puts them under $20. I mean, if you're going to toss $20 on a casino, might aswell enjoy a Summer League game, or three actually.

apparently dejuan blair said on espn that he got a contract, so his chances of playing on the 18th and 19th look pretty good.

as for going to watch them, why not? it's a good chance to see the new spurs progressing close up.

plus you can witness messiah blair in person

It's fun to go but don't count on Blair playing. He could be shut down early. Since it's a back-to-back to end it, it's very unlikely he'll play both games. And the Spurs usually sit all their main stars in the last game and let the other players get some run.

So yeah, if you go, don't go planning to see two games of the team at full strength.

Go. Basketball is always better live and in person. I would have to admit that the Rocky Mountain tournament is better in my opinion.

It is a great experience no matter what individual player is present. Just being a couple of seats away from Pop and D'Antoni talking shop in the stands or meeting a draft pick in the concession line is worth the trip. It's just a lot of fun -- and you're in Vegas when it's at its cheapest.

Hah, he didn't mention the reasons why we shouldn't. BUT here they are:

    Angelbelow cons:
-Taking Graduate Record Exam July 26th.
-Meeting up with a professor for a letter of recommendation (could happen anyday so being out of town for two days is not a good idea.)

    Sexinthatsx cons:
    -Getting ready for law school.

So yea, were both pretty busy but were still heavily considering whether we should go or not.

we live in LA so it roughly takes around 4 hours to drive to Vegas. Now that I've found out dejuan blair is signed, it definitely makes me feel more comfortable buying the tickets to see blair play, but then again like angel below said, there are also many other factors being accounted for.

I would go. Tell your prof you'll be out of town. Whoever isn't driving can study!

so I guess we're not going my friend has to study for his GRE's and the rates for the hotels have skyrocketed since we're going for the weekend. I guess it just sucks knowing that george hill, dejuan blair, mahinmi, and malik hairston are oging to turn out to be such good players that they won't even participate in the summer league next year...
