Damn, I had no idea Daniels would go for that cheap. I still think hes an underrated player.
Daniels heading to Celtics
By Marc Spears
Free-agent guard Marquis Daniels has committed to sign with the Boston Celtics, a league source said Friday.
Daniels will receive the Celtics’ $1.9 million biannual salary-cap exception if the Indiana Pacers aren’t interested in a sign-and-trade deal. The 6-foot-6 Daniels averaged 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 54 games with Indiana last season, his third with the team. Daniels previously played three seasons with the Mavericks.
Daniels, 28, will help improve the Celtics’ perimeter depth. Boston signed free-agent forward Rasheed Wallace last week and remains interested in keeping forward Glen Davis.

Pacers were willing to let him go because he wasn't pasty-white.![]()
Right, which is why the Pacers let him go. Pacers are gonna try to go with the all-vanilla starting five.![]()
Damn, if the right Marquis Daniels shows up, your backcourt is gonna be just fine.
Very solid pick up for that price. I wish the Spurs would have gotten him.
Great pickup! Not a great shooter, but does everything else pretty well and is an active perimeter player in that regard. Boston and Orlando > Cleveland right now if all teams are healthy.
WTF is Cuban doing?![]()
Nice move by the Celtics. Quis always seemed like one of those X-factor players to me.
Their Big 3 was scary enough, but with Rondo rounding out, Sheed in place, and now Daniels, looks like Boston means business.
I thought the Mavs were after him? I guess Donnie didn't get to 'pull the trigger'...![]()
his trigger finger has always been in question

Unbelievable![]()
Marquis is signing for the 1.9 biannual. It doesn't affect Big Baby, who will return to Boston unless someone pays him so much the Celtics won't match (or there's an unexpected sign and trade).
If they got Sheed and Daniels motivated and focused they'll go back to playing lockdown defense.
Looks like he's going to try to go the James Posey route. He'll try to translate the East Coast overrating him into a big payday next summer.
Not a bad idea.
It's amazing what the Spurs, Magic, and Celtics have added this offseason.
wow the celtics got him cheap. this definitely improves their perimeter depth and without taking on a $4-5 million contract. great move by the celtics and bad news for the rest of the league.
Good addition to the Celtics. What is Cuban doing?
