Not too bad. That would be an excellent deal for Houston.
It's no secret that the Rockets are rebuilding/retooling, basically getting younger, and Battier is getting up there in age. Battier is winner, and deserves to have a shot at a ring b/c he does all of the little things to help a team win. Daryl Morey says all the right things when he says like "We look to have Shane lead us next season," when he is actively seeking a trade of fair value for him. Morey also wants Rudy Fernandez badly, which is why Pritchard should consider this deal b/c veterans help you win championships, and with Andre Miller and Shane Battier, they would be instant le contenders. However, the deal would have to look something like this:
Battier to Portland for Fernandez/Bayless
or
Battier to Portland for Fernandez/Outlaw
Would be a good deal for both teams b/c Houston gets younger while Portland gets a veteran leader....This is the best that Morey can get for Battier
Not too bad. That would be an excellent deal for Houston.
Why would Portland want to do this?
Battier for Fernandez straight up would be a steal for the Rockets. Forget about getting another young talent.
Battier for outlaw or webster with filler would be more possible for portland to want to do imo.. fernandez better not be going anywhere lol... I would love to have battier on the team though
This isn't Memphis we're talking about here
Nope we are not talking about Memphis, as Battier weighs almost the same to the package Portland offers. Battier is actually the best player on the Rockets team now that Ron, T-Mac and the 7'6 piece of **** all will spend the next season elsewhere than Houston. Travis and Rudy are both good player capable of being starting lineups for some poor teams like the Rockets, but dudes were only backups in Portland last season and are expected to lose even more game time if remaining there, as Andre Miller has been trapped down to Portland. As to the Blazers, Battier will bring some new concepts to their defensive system and strengthen their status as a contender.
I doubt Portland wants to give up Fernandez for a role player, even if that role player fits what Portland needs.
We would love this deal but why would Portland want to help us out? They got all the veteran leadership they needed with Andre Miller. I think sometimes we Houston fans overvalue Shane.
portland wont trade fernandez unless it's for someone like lebron, wade or someone that lvl.
B/C if he can't get Roy to sign an extension soon then he has to make sure that the Blazers make it to the finals before he bolts, and Battier can do that
Ummm, what?
o: ok!!!!
Seems to me there is another player on Houston that is better..."he who shall not be named,"...
(Sigh) how did that parade work out?

Why not trade Shane Battier for Rudy Gay? Oh wait...
Going to Portland and having a shot at a ring are mutually exclusive...
That trade happened before Morey was the GM....Shane has all the intangibles, but it's time for him to go
Why shouldn't we trade B. Roy for Battier, I'm afraid Houston will be on the losing end if we're just gonna give up Fernandez and/or Bayless
/Sarcasm
