Lol Portland

As most of us would agree, locking up Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge is a no-brainer for the Blazers. The 2006 lottery picks are the cornerstones of this franchise on the brink of contending for a championship. Again, no-brainer, right?
While things don't always go as smoothly as planned, that doesn't mean things won't end up going as planned. The contract negotiations were set as high priorities heading into the offseason and remain so. And even though things are slower to progress than both parties would probably like, as Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports, the Roy and Aldridge camps remain optimistic the deals will get done:
Two weeks since the impasse went public, we're still waiting for the next tangible development. Roy's agent Bob Myers, though, remains optimistic, telling ESPN.com: "We're continuing discussions daily and are hoping for a resolution at some point."
I ran into LaMarcus Aldridge last weekend on the eve of the big Chelsea-Club America match at the new American football palace in Arlington, Texas, where Aldridge was invited to take a penalty kick against vaunted Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech as part of the growing links between the NBA and clubs from the English Premier League.
Aldridge was similarly optimistic when we spoke about the negotiations toward his own contract extension this summer, indicating that he believes his deal will get done in spite of the slow start to talks for both he and Roy.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Roy 5 years $80 Million
Aldridge 5 years $60 Million
I think thats what they are worth. Roy will probably get max and Aldridge something stupid like $80 Million.
Edit.... 5 year extension.

Aldridge is not worth that much.
C'mon KP, do it. Finish this stupid delay. We've enough money to buy picks and players but we ain't got something for our stars?
Brandon Roy is more then worth a maximum deal, Aldridge, not so much.
If Bargnani got 5 years $50 Million, then Aldridge is worth $60 Million.
That was only to get your dumb asses to over pay him!![]()
Another fail for Portland then because it didn't work. Keep making excuses for your franchises failures tlong.
We'll see how you feel about this soon enough...
If that was the case, why even bring up something that was obviously an astronomical failure which your team then tried to hide.
You got a lot to learn kid...
Teach me tlong, please?![]()
All of us knows Bargnani got overpaid, they are probably worth the same. Bargnani is a good offensive player with decent man defense, can shoot the 3 along with his 2 blocks a game. Since Bryan Coangelo likes Euros so much, he will overpay for them. Andrea Bargnani, Rasho Nesterovic, Jose Calderon, Hedo Turklogu, and maybe a returning Carlos Delfino.
For what its worth, i think Aldridge is over rated in general. Especially on this board. But Bargnani and Aldridge are not worth the same amount of money. LA has produced alot more, and done so as the second option on a 50+ win team. I think hes easily worth 20% more than Bargnani.
Bogut, Bynum and Okafor all got well over $60 million, and all three were less productive at that stage of their careers than Aldridge has been (other than Okafor, perhaps). In today's game, for a 6'11" skilled big man who has produced the way he has, i think he is worth $60 mil, and i think he could very well end up getting more.
Okafor I believe received a 6 year 72 million deal which rounds down to 5 years 60 million. Bargnani was paid based on the last few months of the season, which he played extremely well. Bargnani also has more potential than Aldridge in my opinion. Everyone on the Raptors also tuned out Sam Mitc and Bargs in particular has responded very well to Jay Triano when it comes to production. Otherwise, nice thinking.

Unless it's Media & the Lakers, then it does.
Keep poundin' that Blazer ass, Luva!
Well Bynum got 3/41 guaranteed (still waaaaay too much) and 57 if the Lakers pick up the fourth year so he didn't get well over 60 million but still a ton. It's amazing how many players in the league are overpaid, when I think about guys like Bynum and Bargnani and Varijaoi getting the money they got I think LMA may deserve to get a max deal.
I thought there was an option for a fifth season too? Either way, its still more on a yearly basis than $60 mil over 5 years. Depends what you consider more. $57 mil over 4, or $60 mil over 5.
No, it's a four year deal with the fourth as a team option. But yeah I see what you're saying, it's almost 60 million with one less year. I'm just glad there is a team option for the fourth year, or else that contract would be horrendously bad.
