I'm shocked that the talk radio crowd shows up and causes havoc... too bad they can't win elections.

I got a good chuckle when I heard Obama and Pelosi tell the American people that the American people were behind it...

Then I went back to crying when I remembered the lies will make no difference in the progression of King Obama and Queen Pelosi's agenda.

I would think these Congressmen and women know their days in said position are numbered if they vote this legislation through.

I dont know the answers, I dont. I'd love to say I do.

But I am taxed enough and for what? For whom? For my fellow American? For the collective good?

What collective good and how much is enough, really? All this will do is create an even larger divide between Haves and Have-nots. Might I say, exclusively on the backs of the Haves. Interestingly, I see government mishandling the entire appropriation of money involved to even greater degree of debt.

I lost my faith in government a long time ago, but this idea represents an illogical, irrational view on life in the modern world. It flies in the face of reason that this country can afford this and this alone, let alone the other en lements. It's obvious that where Bush had a foreign agenda come or high water, Obama has a domestic agenda without regard for silly pitfalls like financing and taxation.

Its plain and simple. Americans dont want to give the government more of their money. Especially when one considers Congress' ability to manage those funds with any amount of shrewdness or ac en.

Nevertheless, it will get passed. They will raise taxes on the rich initially and as the amount of people who are on the government plan grows every year, they will inevitably raise taxes for everyone permanently and intermitently, incrementally afterword until...forever (or at least until its completely repealed or bankrupts the country).

I see it as a suicide note to the world.

The country is split on healthcare. There are those people who trust Obama and the government because they believe their lives will get better. And, there are those who know better and don't want a socialized system. A government run healthcare is a nightmare waiting to happen. I just wish they would take some time to sit down and make real changes that make sense and will not burden an already bloated US deficit. These are not good times for Americans...

I think they have good intentions, it's just that their ideas aren't very practical during a hardcore economic downturn -- and the people are being heard.

"A government run healthcare is a nightmare waiting to happen."

Medicare users are MORE SATISFIED with Medicare than private insurance users are.

People with private insurance almost never use it (80/20 rule), so they think it's great. Let them have a medical catastrophe and ask them afterwards (if there is an afterwards) what they think about for-profit insurers.

I like how big corporations can influence(or maybe buy) dumb ass Americans.

people who support no universal health care cannot tell why HMO's are better than the government running health care.

    HMO's are for the corporations

the US gov't is for the people, by the people. at least the US gov'ts starting point is from the people.

Where does the HMO's start from....................I'll tell you where $$$$$$$$. And they try their best to buy Washington.

This Obamacare is another one of Obama's ways of kicking out lobbyists through the back door and the corporations DO NOT LIKE IT.

It is striking though, that there's no (prominent) pro-Obamacare astroturfing. At least, not that I've seen on TV or in this forum.

    antimvp,

Pray tell, how is this country going to pay for this legislation?

Dont come on with that fluff bull about cutting spending in Iraq/Afghanistan. Thats never going to happen, shrinking the government will never happen (without force, anyway).

So you propose just...adding new taxes on the rich, I guess? Im not trying to strawman you, here. But how do you forsee the United States government paying for healthcare for millions of people without it currently?

    Holy crap.

How do you you have such faith in the Government?

Why is the desire of officials in government (both elected and not) grab for power more noble than an insurance company's desire for profit? Do you not understand how a govt. having more power is SO much more dangerous than a corporation having money?

What the govt has done for the financial and auto industries should give us all supreme confidence in Obamacare.

Those evil, villainous pharma companies produce the best drugs in the world. And the American medical system is more innovative than any other.

Strangely, there is not a lot of innovation in state-sponsored medical systems. There is not much incentive.

TPM is a consistent exposer of John Murtha's corporate shenanigans, but think whatever you want without following the links, micca. I can't stop you. Nor would there be any sense in trying.

BTW, it is the same guys who brought you Swift Boat Vets for truth. GOP list servs are real too.

It's 2009. You're the one trying to make it about Bush. Try to keep your eye on the ball, micca, hard as that must be for a man with a chest of straw and a head made out of paper mache' .
