Robertson was a SG not a PG but I would give him the edge over Elie. I'd say Johnny Moore was our best defensive pg.
I was going to ask best defensive Spurs team, but it seems four positions are locked.
C Robinson
PF Duncan
SF Bowen
SG Robertson
So, unless you disagree with those 4 positions, who is the other best defensive Spurs guard?
fixed

C-Oberto
PF-Bonner
SF-Finley
SG-Jack McClinton
PG-Beno
True on both counts. Moore was the best defensive PG, even over Paul Pressey when he brought the ball up as a big guard and defended all sizes of players pretty well. It's just a shame Johnny wasn't able to play with the best defensive "team" which was the 1998-99 Spurs' defense.
Robinson, Duncan, Elliott, Elie, Johnson, Perdue, Rose, J. Jackson (very good defender), Kersey, Daniels, and Kerr. Stout Team D with .402 Opp FG% 84.7 PPG Allowed.
Best defensive crew this year will be
Duncan
Haislip
Hill
McDyess
Hairston
most o the time, but he played PG too and always was one of the pass first shootingguards :-)...in terms of defense team he suits very well at PG.
Robinson-no discussion
Duncan-no discussion
Horry-He can play 3, His D is underrated
Bowen-A guy who can defend 1,2,3 spot
Hill-Long arms and quick steps
I just watched the 2003 Spurs series v. Nets.
Speedy, SJax, Rose, Duncan, Robinson was awesome.
Duncan/Robinson seemed to block every shot in the lane.
Robinson
Duncan
SJax
Bowen
Ginobili
All Defensive SPurs team
PG - Avery Johnson
SG - Manu Ginobili
SF - Bruce Bowen
PF - Tim Duncan
C - David Robinson
