The Seventies disco smash "Freak Out", by Chic, was created after the group was denied entry to ultra-hip Studio54. Nile Rogers and his bandmates went back to the studio and started riffing and jamming to the mantra Off! Since they knew that wouldn't get airplay, they changed it to Freak Out.
