Now that I read up a bit more on it, is it really worth waiting a few weeks for simply a bigger hard drive? I don't load music or anything like that on my systems and use a media server to stream video. What other differences are there between the Elite and Pro other than a different case and larger hard drive?

Wait. You can install games to the hard-drive (in fact they just released a new service where you can download games straight to your hard drive).

I only have a 20 GB drive and I lament not having a bigger one every day. Some people don't even install their games, but I'd do it for every game I own if I had the space; why not save the wear & tear on your drives, discs and fans. If it's only a matter of waiting a couple weeks for the price drop, I'd try to hold out.

Actually the Pros have HDMI now. The only benefit I see for the bigger hard drive is installing games you play a lot from your hard drive.

It is worth it. You can download the game to your hard drive which saves your xbpox some work, cause it till play from the HD and not spin the disk. I definitely reccomend getting a 120. I thought it was pointless at first, but once they let us install games to the HD, it was well worth it.

    In one year, they've gone from a $350, 20 GB Pro to a $299, 120 GB Elite.

FWIW, I've read that MS has a large backlog of Elite models that they've been sitting on waiting to sell. The implication being that elites don't have the newest iteration of chipset, while the cheaper arcade models do. I have no idea if that's true or not, but it might be worth researching.

If you want to install games to your hard drive to save loading times, or if you want to download Xbox, Xbox 360, or arcade games the extra space will come in handy.

In all honesty I only bought an Elite because it matched the other black components in my entertainment center. Having said that, I do enjoy and use the additional space.
