Good stuff
...Including a Spurs reference. Enjoy.

I like the passion and the dedication to their team. I like the way the fans create the home-field advantage. However, I still don't get the bad sportsmanship toward opposing players and fans. Guess its just me.
I agree that they shouldn't throw stuff on the field/players, but everything else is great. Pure madness. Absolute devotion to their national team. A HUGE home-field advantage. Simmons blew some of it a little out of proportion perhaps, but I think he captured the fervor surrounding a qualifier(!). No US national team will ever have that kind of support, unfortunately. I think Simmons is right when he says that soccer is going to continue to grow, however. I was lucky enough to play all the way through high school, as well as go to a couple world-cup games in 94' and one in 02'. There's just nothing like a great match. Only thing even close in my experience is a few Auburn/Alabama football games, and really that isn't even close.
Good read. Thanks for sharing.
I understand the passion, but hate the violence during soccer games.
