I'm actually looking forward to Brazil exposing Maradona. Its high time this ing country realizes who and what he is. A great player, no doubt but absolutely nothing else. He wouldn't know coaching if it hit him in the face.
It also gets pretty ing tiring to see how most people in Argentina pay attention to Maradona like he is a deity or something. When in reality he is an ignorant piece of crap with no sense of the responsibility his "role model" status comes with.
The day kids in this country stop modeling themselves after trash like him is the day this country turns a corner.

I'll always pull for Argentina against Brazil, simply because Brazil is always considered the best in soccer. However, I'll never forgive the Maradona hand ball in 86'. Why Maradona is managing I still have no idea, and you can forget about defense as long as he's there.
BTW, Argentina has the best looking uniforms in maybe any sport, anywhere, IMO.
Argentina won't lose in the Gigante de Arroyito.

The guy won the world cup by himself and bought happiness to a ty ass country that really needed it at the moment, and for that reason Maradona has my support, the hunger to win hasn't been in the Argentina national team for a long time and the fact that he's trying his best to make those prima donnas understand what they are playing for is very important and something that had to be done a long time ago.
Yes he has made mistakes, but who hasn't, and it really pisses me off when people judge others when they don't look themselves first.
Maradona has made a lot of positive changes in his life, and about being the coach of Argentina he still has a lot of time to prove himself, and there's no reason to make personal attacks about him.

I'll be the first to tell you that the reasons I don't like Maradona have nothing to do with the way he plays football. I loved how he played as well, but at least recognize that you love him for what he WAS, not what he IS. What he is, is everything that is wrong with Argentina. That being willfully ignorant, irresponsible, and a ing sellout to the highest bidder.
Spare me the "don't judge, lest you be judged" bull ! He is a public figure, his behavior influences people. He chose to not give a about that. Besides, I don't understand why people love him so much. Yeah, he won the world cup 23 ing years ago. All of a sudden, he is a deity who can't do or say anything wrong. He always gets a pass. In fact, when he's finished ing up the national team, he'll get a pass as well. By the way, I'd like to point out that he may have won WC in 86 for us, but he's also the single biggest reason our team lost in 94. Remember the games after he was escorted out by the nurse (what a proud moment that was)? I don't remember seeing a team more demoralized in my life.

I think our offense is crap and I think Brazil knows this...
I think our defense is crappier and I know Brazil knows this...
I think every time we play Brazil our nuts shrivel and the only times we've been able to beat them is when we come in focused and coordinated. Anyone that thinks this team is focused or coordinated after watching the Russia match is deluded.

I didn't see the Russia game... but the goals that Argentina scored against them were superb...
I saw that game... and Argentina made Russia look like a top 5 team... seriously they looked like robots.
I have to admit I also saw Maradona in the bench and laughed... and then I understood.
Truth is... Manumaniac is keeping it real, Argentina doesn't look too scary right now and it's because of Maradona.
I'm not from Argentina but I also agree on his point of view regarding Maradona.
