what a shock! this came out of nowhere
By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports
Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley checked into an unidentified Houston rehabilitation hospital over the weekend, multiple sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Sources said the Heat encouraged Beasley to check into the facility to address possible substance and psychological issues. He is expected to spend time with former NBA player and coach John Lucas, who is renown for his success in working with troubled players.
When reached Monday morning, Miami Heat spokesman Tim Donovan declined comment. An NBA spokesman also declined comment.
Beasley’s admission comes after a handful of disturbing Twitter posts were attributed to him on Friday afternoon.
“Y do I feel like the whole world is against me…I can’t win for losin,” Beasley wrote.
“Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!! I’m done.”
Beasley’s frustration had been born out of a posed Internet photo on his personal Twitter page. In the photo, Beasley showed off on his back while two plastic baggies could be seen on a table in the background. Some people have speculated on the bags’ contents, even though the clarity of the photo makes it difficult to determine. After the photo became a fast-moving Internet story, Beasley posted the messages on his Twitter account before the page was shut down on Saturday night.
Even before the Heat made him the No. 2 pick after Derrick Rose in the 2008 draft, Beasley has been a target of criticism inside and outside the organization for his immaturity. From team president Pat Riley to superstar Dwyane Wade, the Heat have been frustrated with Beasley’s clownish at ude and personal decisions.
The NBA fined Beasley $50,000 for being in a room where marijuana was found at the NBA’s rookie symposium last summer. Beasley had slipped out the door when security officials arrived on the scene, leaving Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur to face punishment alone. Riley later found out Beasley had been in the room and forced him to confess to league officials. So far this summer, Miami had been unwilling to include Beasley in trade talks with the Utah Jazz for Carlos Boozer.
Beasley had a solid rookie season for Miami, averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds.

I guess that's what happens to rookies w/out any self-control whom live in MIAMI. Get Dungy to help him along w/ Lucas.
LOL Twitter posts, what a knock-off.
Not claiming any originality, just posting stories for discussion that haven't been posted yet.
Full credit for the article goes to Mr. Wojnarowski, with the associated Twitter page bringing it to my attention.

LOL you act like they had the chance to get Beasley.
LOL at the grass by the 7up cup. This fool is dumber than a bag of rocks.
, my bad I was thinking Chalmers for some reason. Prolly the drug thing.
He definitely needs some help. I wonder why he became like that. Shame a guy with his talent or even his bank account is having depression like problems.
Shame anyone has depression issues, odds are with his privilege he has some sort of chemical imbalance. Drugs maybe, or perhaps just natural inclination to mental disorder.
Hey remember when Beasley was supposed to be > Derrick rose lol
If this blows over quickly I think there's still a decent chance of that happening, maybe that's my bias towards Beasley and bias against point guards, but Beasley is probably one of the 5-10 most talented players in the league. It's a real shame this is happening, I was looking forward to see if he'd be a full time starter next year and how that'd work.
I guess it's a good thing Lamar didn't end up going to the Heat, this could have gotten real ugly.
Still along ways to go before he's on isiah riders level... he still has hope
Must be Riley's karma running roughshod over his dogma. I thought paying Parker two years for staying out of South Florida was penance enough, but, that ain't the case.
Good.
Though Rider does have that NBA Championship le on his ledger.
Only dads make this pun. Either that or you're a middle school educator of some sort. Either way, I'm almost convinced just by this statement that you wear a caterpillar moustache.
A clean shaven dad.
Substance abuse is no laughing matter. Many lives have been ruined by it.
Here's why this story is really disappointing to a Beasley fan:
25 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 turnover1, 56% shooting
23 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 50% shooting
28 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 63% shooting
23 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 60% shooting
22 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 turnover, 53% shooting
Those were has last 5 games of his rookie year. He was gonna be so sick this year.
....Oh, well, saylarvee.
Just a dog and pony show. Rehab for weed? lmao.
