I'd have to go with Pearl Jam, but I am more of a fan of Soundgarden.

Only problem with Soundgarden is while their 'peak songs' are damn awesome (Black hole sun, pretty noose, etc), the rest of the catalogue is pretty ... well, mediocre.

At least with Pearl Jam there is a consistent level of music quality.

Personally, i'd choose from Tool, Tea Party or Jeff Buckley.
