Not even close. Go to Fry's in Austin, they have much better deals on screens actually large enough to see something on. This is not much more than a glorified PC display.
Failing that, try places like Sam's or Costco.

You need to get at least a 32, anything less is just a waste of time...
much better, but never heard of that brand.
try vizio. very affordable, and good quality for the price.
You should be able to get the 26" Samsung for not much more. I'd probably already have one as a computer monitor right now, but I wanted the option of a VESA mount.
If you aren't going to be be using it as a monitor and won't be too close to it (i.e., just a regular tv), there are plenty of fairly good 32" 720p lcds around for $300-400.

I have not shopped for a tv forever
There are some nice deals on even larger screens these days.
Fry's has a 40" Toshiba 1080p for $579, for example.

I don't speak "ducks", but here's what I think he means.
He indicates he lives somewhere near Phoenix. Phoenix is a warm-weather destination for retirees from the North who can afford to spend their winters away from the cold (snowbirds). His business/income would appear to be positively affected when this group comes to town.
thanks, that makes sense I guess. I thought he lived in Brazil... guess that's why I got lost ( I didn't see his "Phoeniz" post at first)
Maybe he does and only travels to Phoenix. Brazil would also work as a warm-weather destination for Americans and Europeans in winter. He'll have to clarify. Like I said, I don't really speak "ducks".
Yuma AZ. Which is pretty much economically driven by snow birds from October through February or March.
