Wanted to share.

You are a lucky guy PB. Bruce is a great guy and will always be underrated. Tell him that he is the sole reason Spurs fans get any credit as a knowledgeable fan base; appreciating a player like him gives you credit with the pundits![]()
he already talked to espn
The Spurs will look different now. Bruce was one of the greatest defenders I have ever seen.
Look out Peter...Bruce just may take your spot....
In all seriousness though...from what I've heard the few times Bruce has co-hosted your show...he's got a great shot at becoming a respected and entertaining commentator or analyst.
Good luck Bruce...thanks for your help in getting the trophy to San Antonio several times.
For a guy who's frequently been diminished or deemed insufficient in some way during his NBA career, Bruce Bowen's retirement sure hasn't gone unnoticed or under-reported. Among others, Marc Stein, Art Garcia, and even the wire services offer lengthy stories about Bruce Bowen's retirement. That's the sort of specific send off that is usually reserved for significant players with significant resumes. Guys who aren't stars tend to get the one-paragraph wire report, if anything. It's a tribute to Bruce Bowen, his hard work, and his ultimate successes that his decision to call it a day professionally is considered that newsworthy. There are many players who were blessed with more skill or who cultivated higher profiles whose retirements were deemed less newsworthy.
Bruce will be missed by the Spurs and by Spurs fans, but he's earned his place as an iconic player for this franchise and he deserves every drop of ink spent to commemorate the end of his career today.
Amen, well said FWD!
Bruce almost started the all-star game for s sake.
Just showed him Spurstalk. He was laughing at some of the posts. Flattered by the love
Bruce needs to be a special commentator on SpursTalk. Maybe even a blog on here, we could call it Bruce's Bytes... oh wait
Bruce & Sean Sports Radio
I called in and told Bruce about Spurstalk.
Glad you showed him Peter. When I called in around 7:30 you seemed a little scared about showing him.
I couldn't hear the show but I text in my take on it. I guess I can check the podcast later, but it's not really the same as being able to hear it live with the option to interact.
Then again, the shows aren't nearly as long so they're easier to get through.
Speaking of which, why isn't the show on iTunes? Is it too expensive to host?
Bruce may have retired a free agent, but he will always be a Spur.
FYI.........A caller today (fri) called in and i only caught end of call when he asked if Bruce go to spurstalk.com. He said he didnt, but would look into it. Peter made some nice comments about here to right after that comment. Im sure Bruce will soon be lurking among us for information.
PB, be honest. He laughed at my post.
That was me Yoda. I was thanking him and stuff like that at first and then asked him if he'd been on this site before. He said no, but that he would now.
good stuff..
also thought it funny how Peter said AFTer ticket760.com, spurstalk first place he goes. Made a smart choice for himseld to say that first. He seemed a little uneasy about talking about it for a sec, but did give it alot of love. Bruce had to be at least interested to see what spurstalk is now.
For serious basketball players or writers, there are some good posts and quality minds, but there is a lot of "fluff" to sift through.
I am sure Bruce won't enjoy reading "pwnd" or "drink drain-o"
And here I was thinking all along that Solid D was Bruce Bowen!

Thanks for the compliment.

There is an old saying about Hollywood, career arcs and directors' casting demands that goes something like this: "Get me Denzel Washington! Get me a Denzel Washington-type! Get me a young Denzel Washington!" I'm reminded of that today, in the wake of Bruce Bowen's decision to retire after 12 proud (for him and his) and punishing (for opponents) NBA seasons.
Bowen, 38, won't make it into the Hall of Fame. He might have to wait to see his jersey number retired by the Spurs, the team he helped to championships in 2003, '05 and '07. But he exits the playing scene having achieved a distinction that only a special handful has managed in league history: Bruce Bowen leaves as an archetype.

Awesome quote ex. Where is that from?
