Buy one of theses stick it in your PC and your set!

It has the RF cables that go from your VCR to the PC save your stuff on your Hard Drive then just convert the files to DVD with this.

Then put a blank DVD in your PC and burn it!

Like mouse said, a capture card is the way to go. I'd probably look for something that can capture to MPEG2 in hardware though, because video compression takes forever in software in addition to using enormous amounts of diskspace for the ripped MJPEG (before it's compressed).

I like that. I went to the website... $49, seems ok.

I know. A while back I took four VHS-C tapes to Wolf Camera, and told them to put them on DVD (2 VHS-C tapes to each DVD). They send it out to a separate place to have it done. So anyway, total came out to something like $65, too damn expensive.

(admittedly, they did a good job)

thanks for the vhs 2 dvd tip, z0sa. Have you used it?

No, I haven't - I was kind of really asking when I said "what about one of these." However, I may be doing something soon that calls for vhs to pc (not dvd) transfer, and that's what I would use. If you're still waiting to do this in a few weeks or so, I'll probably have an answer.

If that chinga-dera zOsa posted is legit then your only 10.00 dollars away from all the DVD's you need. Just go to BTjunkie and download Sony Vegas.Roxio, or any other cool movie software you find off the net and purchase some blank DVD's and your home free!

Provided your pc has a DVD burner.

I gave my desktop that has a really nice LG dvd burner to my son. My current desktop only has a CD burner, so I need to buy a DVD writer. How about some recommendations for burners? I want one that will that will do anything you want. They don't have any kind of DRM circuitry do they, I haven't bought one in a long time.
