A.P. 09/08/2009- Ray Allen posed in make-up for his role of "Mr. Mistoffelees", in a local Boston theater production of Ray's self-proclaimed favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Cats. Allen, a long time fan of musical theater, said that the current cast is probably the best team that it has ever been his honor to be a part of. Allen originally tried out for the role of the Rum Tum Tugger, but producers saying that he wasn't quite "masculine enough" for the role, offered instead the mischievous and constantly sequence clad, "Magical Mr. Mistoffelees". Ray, staying in character, when asked about the casting was later quoted as saying that he and his character are "a purrr-fect match", the response was followed by wild jazz-hands. His Celtic teammate, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, has also expressed interest in the project saying as recently as Monday in a Celtics promoted press conference that he, "was born to play the Rumpleteazer".
