Oh yes. It's Detroit's fault now.
Source: Pistons Lied To Iverson
Allen Iverson's business manager, Gary Moore, claims that the Pistons assured the guard a leadership role when they traded for him last November.
Obviously, that's not how things played out in Detroit. His new teammates were upset that management traded longtime point guard Chauncey Billups.
"Allen couldn't do anything about that," Moore told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "When you lie to him, that affects him."
Moore added that Iverson sat down face-to-face with the Grizzlies before signing with the team.
"They were up front with him," Moore said. "When he sat down and met with them eye-to-eye, he said, 'I was just lied to, and it almost destroyed my career. What do you guys want from me? If you want me to just come here and sell tickets, you've got the wrong guy. If I come here, I want to win.' "

Allen Iverson comes to Grizzlies with swagger
Guard has never been one to believe in limits

Leadership isn't given, it's taken, then earned...
And AI lied to the Pistons when he told them he would do everything to help them win, so I guess they're even
But....but.... practice is not necessary since AI gives 200% every night![]()
He wants to win games with the Grizz, he signed because he wants to win games with the Grizz. That is gonna take a whole lot of practice in the gym AI to lead this team to the playoffs in the West.
(*) After I get a starter's minutes and get paid. Oh, and I need to be the first option on offense. And I don't practice. If I come here, I want to win.'(*)
Everyones so quick to forget how great this man was! You're all re ed... watch AI make y'all eat those words!
AI's girlfriend, is that you?
If we're getting technical and keeping score, AI also lied to both media and basketball fans everywhere by claiming, "he wants to do what it takes to win a championship".
He also lied when he claimed he was injured and had to shutdown for the season. Funny how that diagnosis came after he was relegated to the bench.
It is truly amazing how nothing is ever HIS fault. Somehow he's always the victim. Now he claims this season is personal, because "folks been trying to put him in a rocking chair". What does that mean? He's going to hog minutes, pound the rock, and take even more shots that he's accustomed to - just to prove a point?
AI has always played the game for himself. Great player. HOF-worthy and all. But let's cut the . He's not interested in how he can improve a team because doesn't see anything wrong with his style of play.
Like the Nuggets and Pistons, the Grizz will likely "rue the day" they signed this guy. And it will be their own fault.
The Pistons were allowed to break their promise after Allen Iverson went out at the casinos with Delishus from Flavor of Love for an all-nighter and then missed practice the next day in like his first month with the team.
