Patrick Swayze Dies

Patrick Swayze died today after a long battle with cancer. He was 57.
Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008.
He was the star of such movies as "Ghost," "Dirty Dancing," and "Road House." Swayze was named People's Sexiest Man Alive in 1991.

A lot of cancer victims fight for years and years, through remissions, recurrences, different cancers.
pancreatic cancer, like lung cancer, is relatively swift and reliable. Almost nobody makes it to 5 years after diagnosis.
Sad.
you'd figure if you were diagnosed with cancer you'd stop smoking
smoking isn't amenable to "figuring", it's physical addiction, not mental.

can someone tell me how smoking gets you pancreatic cancer? seriously, I thought you could only get cancer from smoking in your mouth, throat and lungs.

When you get pancreatic cancer, be sure and tell us how long one day lasts.
20 months for pancreatic is like 10 years for lung. Most patients are given 6-12 months.
