Who's next?

One down, two to go. The Spurs waived C Dwayne Jones today. They have two more roster cuts to make before the season starts.
I'm a little curious about the timing on this. He was with the Toros last year and I expected he would be with them again this year. Cutting him two weeks before it is necessary makes me think he may have some interest in him by another team, maybe in Europe.
Who's next?
NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
He was my favorite player! What am I going to do with the custom made jersey I just bought?!
that dude totally stunk it up in the 2 games i saw live... out of position on both ends of the floor, no defense, and horrible offense as well as passing. another round with the toros or europe will serve him well.
Coming soon... Williams & Jerrel
Jerralls I think is next then I think Williams will be a hard cut.
thus far williams hasn't done jack, at least jerrals plays defense.
After such a stellar showing in the D-League last year, it's surprising that Williams hasn't performed well.
Oh damn. The first casualty of keeping Ian Mahinmi.
Actually I consider his time with the torros and success in the Spurs systems in the D-League as actually accomplishing something, but he definitely need to prove that success can translate to the NBA.
Sooner or later another Jones will come along.![]()
Jerralls is more than likely down to his last game. Parker said he isn't playing tomorrow, but said he is likely to play in the final three games, as Pop tries to get at least some semblance of a regular playing rotation down in time for the start of the regular season.
Williams will probably last until the end of the pre-season. Assuming he can't latch on with another NBA team, the Spurs will probably try to stash him away on the Toros for one final season. Then, barring a trade for a swing-man (which is unlikely) within' the next year or the drafting of one next year, Williams will have a solid shot to replace Finley on the roster next season.
And then there were 17

The Spurs made their first cut of the preseason, waiving forward/center Dwayne Jones after this morning's practice.
Jones played in all three preseason games so far, averaging 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 11 minutes.
The move, which certainly wasn't unexpected, reduces the Spurs' roster to 17. They have until Oct. 26 to cut down to the maximum of 15.

But, the fat lady has yet to sing! However, the SA Police Dept. is presently escorting her to the Spurs practice facility. Well as soon as they can find a tractor-trailer rig big enough to carry her!
Dwayne Jones has signed with Serbian team KK Crvena. It sucks for the Toros.

From San Antonio to Belgrade, Serbia. Talk about culture shock.
He's from Austin, so they may let him play Tuesday in his hometown before they cut him.
That Jerrels dude is probably next.
He seems like a good dude. I hope, for his sake, that they give him that one parting gift.
They have waived him less than one week after having signed him:
