How would you split the minutes? I prefer when the Spurs use a 7-8 man rotation in the playoffs. That might be tough to do because this year the Spurs have a lot of capable players. That said, I'd prefer something like this in the playoffs:

    C Nesterovic 28
    PF Duncan 38
    SF Bowen 32
    SG Ginobili 32
    PG Parker 38

    PF Horry 30
    SG Barry 32
    PG Udrih 10

I'd give spot minutes to Mohammed and a healthy Brown. Too bad that Barry hasn't played point guard too much this season or else I'd probably eliminate Udrih from this rotation.

While Mohammed has been impressive, I think Horry will really be useful in the playoffs. He's playing very good ball right now and is playing better than he has in years. The only way Mohammed should get major minutes is if Nesterovic isn't able to play.

Brown and Robinson should only see the court when the Spurs are struggling to score or when the Spurs go small against teams like the Sonics and the Suns. Brown missed too much time and Robinson has been with the team enough to expect them to get any kind of consistent minutes in the postseason.

How do you think the playoff rotation should breakdown?

    Believe.

That's too involved. I leave that for the professionals.

    C Nesterovic 25
    C/PF Duncan 36
    SF Bowen 32
    SG Ginobili 30
    PG Parker 36

    C Nazr 18
    PF Horry 21
    SG/PG Barry 30
    SF GRob 12

I think Beno, Devin and Mass will see only spot minutes. As the playoffs go on and if Devin is healthier, I think he'll get worked in somehow.

I have to see how the last games will be like. Glenn could really help if he gets his shooting rythm back. It's not enough shooting 33% or something like that. If he can step it up I would play him about 10-15 minutes.

Right now it would look like that: (assuming Rasho will be back in the playoffs)

    Rasho 25/ Nazr 17
    Timmy 36/ Horry 18
    Bowen 30/ Glenn 10
    Gino 34 / Barry 25
    Parker 38/ Beno, Devin: rest

Of course the playing time will also depend on matchups.

i agree with timvp in the sens that 8 men rotation is i think better, however the only way i see this is with nazr, horry and barry to come of the bench and there is really few chance it will happends.
My pronostic is a 9 men rotation
    Rasho 25 Timmy 37
    Bowen 33 gino 32
    parker 36
    with from the bench:
horry 19mn and nazr 15 for center and power forward
barry 27 for guards and small forward
the rest which should be 16mn will be share depending on matchup between
Udrih and SF(glenn or devin) and last resort rest of rosters
This is an 8+1 rotation where 1 can be the question mark every game!

The Spurs haven't had a set rotation yet. I expect Pop to subs ute by situation rather than by set rotation. I don't expect Rasho to get too many minutes at first because of his gimpy ankle. Pop will want to avoid overplaying TD too if he can.

My guesses are averages expecting some garbage times as well.

    C Nesterovic 24
    PF Duncan 36
    SF Bowen 30
    SG Ginobili 30
    PG Parker 36

    PF/C Horry 24
    PF/C Nazr and Massenburg 12
    SG/SF Barry 24
    SG/SF Glenn and Devin 12
    PG Udrih 12

I would start with 9-10 because of the injuries and with something like this:

    TD 34 MG 32
    TP 35 BBO 30
    RN 20 RH 24
    NM 24 GR/BU/ et al 15
    BB 26

Keep 'em fresh and keep the D intensity at the highest level.

    C-Rasho-28
    PF-TD-40
    SF-Bowen-30
    SG-Manu-34
    PG-Parker-34

    Backups

Barry @the point for 14 minutes
    Barry @the SG-14 minutes
    Big Dogg @the 3 for 18 minutes
Horry-20 minutes and Nazr 8 split between the 4 and 5

I think Pop will begin to use his playoffs rotation Saturday. At least it is what Tony said in his last interview.
Why so many people think that Barry will play point??? He hasn't played it during the whole season. Beno will play 10-12 minutes and more when Tony is cold.

To expect any sort of minutes from Glenn Robinson is suicide. Yeah, he's a good insurance policy but to pencil him in to a rotation is stretching it. I think he's a good fit for a role where he plays once or twice a series when the Spurs can't score. More than that and the Spurs are in trouble.

Imagine Jerome Kersey in '99 ... at most.

Agreed about Robinson. Put him at the free throw line against the zone, or those games when the D is really packed in, but on a regular basis, no way. He can single handedly put the opposition in the bonus in the blink of an eye.

    C Nesterovic 25
    PF/C Duncan 36
    SF/SG Bowen 30
    SG/SF Ginobili 33

    PF/C Mohammed 8
    SF Robinson 5
    SG/SF Barry 28
    PG Udrih 13

Nazr's and Glenn's minutes are average spot minutes. If they are effective, they can play more on any given game, or not play at all in another game if not necessary. I think Beno will get at least 12 minutes backing up Tony.

timvp didn't say the total has to be:

    5 postions/team x 48 minutes/position = 240 minutes/team

What happens if Nazr in place of Rasho plays like a stud first two games? I would then divide the C minutes between two pretty close.

This is if Devin is not available. I like a solid 8 man rotation with 2 other players getting spot minutes. Somegames they might play 15 minutes, some they might play 2.

    C - Rasho Nesterovic 28mpg
    PF - Tim Duncan 40mpg
    SF - Bruce Bowen 32mpg
    SG - Emanuel Ginobili 34mpg
    PG - Tony Parker 38mpg

    PF - Robert Horry 22mpg
    SG - Brent Barry 28mpg
    PG - Beno Udrih 10mpg

Spot minutes for Nazr/Robinson. I would prefer Barry to be backup PG but It isn't feasible because he just hasn't done it enough this season.
