Predicted Finish for Western Conference: 2009-10
RANK TEAM COMMENT 1
Los Angeles Lakers
Scary thought: L.A.'s two best young players (Andrew Bynum and Jordan Farmar) gave them virtually nothing in le run. Throw in Ron Artest's Rottweiler D and doses of Kobe and Pau, and the only West team that can beat L.A. is L.A. 2
Por. Trail Blazers
Playoff flop was a bummer, but young Blazers were West's second-best team at end of regular season last year and added Andre Miller and a full offseason for center Greg Oden. If anyone can challenge L.A., it's these guys. 3
San Antonio Spurs
Decrepit supporting cast got needed upgrade with additions of Richard Jefferson, Antonio McDyess, and second-round steal DeJuan Blair. But there's no fifth ring unless Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili regain their former mojo. 4
Denver Nuggets
Lots of things had to go right for Nuggets' Cinderella run to conference finals, and some of them won't necessarily repeat. But clever additions (Lawson, Afflalo) around superb starting five should keep them in West's upper crust.

Hey, puddinhead, what's up?
hollinger is the one with the slide ruler at all of the games ?
There's a good chance that the WC standings end up like Hollinger predicts (1. LA, 2. POR, 3. SA, 4. DEN). However, the important thing is what happens next on the playoffs.
blazers will be 6th seed
Like I said...they're both re s.
Put away the crack my friend...
and lose in the first round
I'm surprised he even put spurs at 3 how modest of him
It's entirely possible that the Blazers end up with a better regular season record than the Spurs. No guarantee, but it's not absurd to think they will. But who cares? As mentioned, that doesn't mean they'll have a deeper playoff run.
Still don't get why there are insecure Spurs fans when as a fan base they've enjoyed so much success over the last decade.
Yes, but Tlong has been jinxing his team like there is no tomorrow
Last week I would have disagreed with putting the blazers above the spurs, but after finding out that yes indeed it is not some sick demented joke that Finley and Bonner will be the spurs' opening day starters this year...
can't say that prediction looks too unreasonable now.
Oh for s sake........let it go already.![]()
spurs tend to tank games in the season as long as they are top 4 home court is a guarantee. it could be they wont be 2nd but not cause they arent good but on purpose
