You've really got to feel for fans of the Indians. Sabathia and Lee in Game 1.

Phillies in 6 or 7. I think the phils have better clutch hitters up and down the lineup. Not likely pedro will have any redemption so I think he loses a game. It would be nice though! rollins, howard, and the flyin hawaiian...real clutch

That's about 40 wins between them when they are hot. What kind of front office lets the both of those guys go?

Not that Shapiro should be defended, but the kind of front office that lets both of those guys go is a small market team that doesn't win games and has about zero chance of retaining either of them once they become free agents. They wouldn't have let them go if they felt like they had even a half way decent chance of resigning either of them.

As for the World Series, like many, I think this is probably one of the better World Series there has been in a while.

Yankees actually look like they match-up well against the Phillies. They have two starting left handed pitchers to counter the heavy left handed bats in the Philly line-up, they have the offensive firepower to match them, and they have the stronger bullpen. Should be an exciting series.

    I got Yankees in 6.

How about the Earth opening up and swallowing both teams and it is a draw? I was looking forward to one of the local teams making it to the WS, but alas this may be a great duel between a traditional AL team and an AL team playing in the NL. If the Phillies can manage to take one of the first two at the New Yankee Cracked Stadium, they have a real good chance at taking this in 6. They have the bats to challenge the Yankees as was not the case with the Angels. Only 2 other teams have repeated in the past 20 years and that was the Yankees of the late 90's and the Blue Jays of the early 90's. I'm going to think this will go 7 games and I hope the Phils win. But I don't really care.

I agree CC was as good as gone. I think they could have re-signed Lee, though. Who in my opinion, is better.

I'll be cheering for the Phils but not watching it.

Well, Lee wasn't stellar beginning the season after his Cy Young winning campaign in '08, so the Indians had to consider moving him since they were hit hard by the economic times. I don't think Lee is better than Sabbathia, but in the playoffs--they've both been really good for their respective teams.

But I'm with you on this--watching this will be unbearable.

This should be a great series, almost to close to call. Any way both teams can lose? That would be nice.

Nice to see the Yanks finally meeting their match. This series is over in 5-6 games. The Phillies are just a matchup nightmare.
