It's funny, because anything groundbreaking, technical, or new tends to come from Cali.
Here's a good read from TIME magazine

As someone who does business in both states I can 100% say this is true.

He is a lawyer that represents people who drink drain-o and sue for damages.
I wish.
Your not? I thought you telling everyone to drink drain-o was advertising?
yeah...I noticed that..never understood why.
Seems to me this thread belongs in the political section. I only wish the link compared the numbers to total tax rates. Bet that's enlightening.
Yeah..I guess you could be right..I wasn't sure, so I went with the "Let it all hang out" board.

Not surprising that states that tax business high have poor business. Common sense.
good call
What do some of the people in California's senate propose to fix the deficit?
Raise taxes on businesses.
Yes, lets keep doing the same thing that got you in the deficit to begin with. Taxing the out of businesses, them leaving, then there being job loss.
a taste tester of lard
I just got my new tax table updates, and Californians now have a 10% increase in their state withholdings at least through the end of the year. Any bonus tax will also increase 10% from 6% to 6.6%.
California is definitely the worst. I cringe whenever a client of mine mentions wanting to do business in Cali, and do whatever I can to talk them out of it. High wages, high state taxes, the mul ude of state filings are a pain in the ass there. Stay away!
Yep, California has been pushing better off people out of the state for years. Those who can afford to move, often do. Oregon was "Califirnicated" more than 20 years ago.
Oregon used to be such a great state...
