LOLz, they unleashed a massive banhammer last night.
I've had mine modded since Jan '08. But I haven't played consistently in over 1.5 months due to school. I checked last night and I was still able to log in to LIVE.
Anyone else get banned? I did but I expected it and it was worth it.

did you burn and or play mw2? what firmware and drive you got?
No, the last recent game I played was Arkham Asylum. Actually, I tried Tekken 6 last night (same ol' ). BenQ with iXtreme 1.61 (had 1.6 until this weekend).
hahahahaha. spend less money on cheeseburgers and maybe you can afford to pay for games that you enjoy, instead of ripping the developers off.
you got what you deserved
MiamiHeat tells the truth.
queue a mouse invasion
MIAMIHEAT no need to respond to any of my posts you will be talking to yourself. you are the first wad ive had to ignore on spurstalk.
my friend was banned as well... the funny thing about him is that he was playing a legit copy of COD:WAW lol
legit copy + modded console = ban
microsoft found a way to id modded xboxes in general. Obviously its just a ing cash grab on M$ part since they didn't have the stones to ban the users. Also lol modders
That is a false statement if i ever saw one.
The people getting busted are the ones playing games before street date and who made bad rips.
There is no firmware detection. This has recently been proven in the modding community.
Microsoft collects a ton of data over the course of the year and does the bans in waves. You get flagged for playing multiple games before street date, bad rips, leaked rips perhaps by microsoft like a trojan horse that is easy for Microsoft to detect.
They for the last 3 years have unleashed massive banwaves around the holidays to e xbox 360 sales.

I got popped for playing mw2 10 or 11 days before street date. I have been playing games for 8 months with zero problems when I did not play games early. Plenty of people with retail copies of mw2 were banned in this wave including bloggers who received review copies from IW/Microsoft.
^^ Ledger with incorrect statements again.
That link you posted earlier, was a guy saying Turn 10 (Forza guys) banned him from ONLINE SERVERS of their particular game (Motorsport 3), but he was fine on XBOX LIVE. Microsoft had nothing to do with it.
secondly, I have seen TWO confirmations from XBOX STAFF that playing legit copy + legit console = NO PROBLEM
the 'friends' of yours who claim they didn't mod their console, are lying.
right-o, microsoft never makes mistakes. or ty hardware for that matter
MiamiHeat has no idea what he's talking about. You know it's legal to have a modded console to play your own back-up games? It's illegal to download or upload games to/from the the internet, though. Microsoft checks ho plays a lot of games or bad copies of games and bans those people. I don't plan on playing any games before street date anymore, unless this 360 gets banned. I will keep it to play games early. If you got banned, you most likely did for playing Forza3, or MW3 before release.
Not true. Firmware is copy written software, redistributing that software in any form (Modified or not) is illegal.
Microsoft DOES NOT want you tampering with the Xbox 360.
Period. If you modded your console, Microsoft will ban that console from Xbox Live.
dude
how can you tell me I don't know what I am talking about, but you are the one who clearly doesn't know about this issue?

, Ive already told you many game bloggers/gaming sites got their legit consoles banned for playing mw2 with their review copies. They were legitimate retail copies and they still got banned for playing early on non modified consoles.
I was not banned for playing MW2 or Forza(did not download forza)
My account was flagged on the 27th(according to warranty expiration notice when I logged into my account). The leaked game came out in early November. I did however play Operation Flashpoint early as well as a few other games in the past including Halo Odst.
When you are banned it is not immediately once your account is flagged you are queued for a future banwave. Its possible I was banned for a bad rip of Borderlands.
If Miami Heats logic is correct (which it ain't) why are thousands of people still playing on xbox live on modified consoles? If they can detec firmware on one they can on all so why arent everyone else banned? Dumb its becaue there are other criteria to the banning not because they detect modified consoles. So quit talking about you don't have a clue about.
There is one guy right now that has 3 different consoles (all modded) on xbox live, using different firmwares and playing different games, none of them early and he has not been banned. Nor are they queued to be banned as there is a way you can tell that I will not discuss.
You cannot mod your xbox, it's legal of course just like breaking guitars on stage is legal, but voids the warranty so for most of us, you're simply not supposed to do it
Backing up your own games IS legal, including by download. If you don't have a game when you download it, it's illegal even if you buy the game afterwards

I know (modded console=ban), but we found it funny that he got the ban hammer when he was playing a bought game.... lol...
What I mean to say. Worded mine wrong. Got banned today. Replacing 360's with my cousin. He doesn't play online.
so you mod too, mexican? damn ;p
If you have 2 xboxes in your house But 1 of them is modded, does the modded one get banned only or both of them?
