One of the funniest shows on television.
It was actually renewed for a second season a few weeks back, which is pretty quick for a new show that hadn't even finished airing its first season.
Did anyone catch this series on HBO? I sort of accidently watched the entire thing the last few weeks, I think it was only 6 or 7 episodes. It really grew on me and Ted Danson's character was great. Best thing I've seen him in I think. If it comes back for a second season, I'll watch.![]()

I have not watched this show but really liked the Damages series that he was in. Ever catch it?
No I'm a pretty inconsistent TV watcher, so I have a hard time following a normal length series. But a friend told me that she thought it was Danson's best character. I may check it out.
It's not great, but it has the potential to be a really good series. Generally, it takes a couple of seasons for writers to find their groove. So, hopefully it becomes a little less uneven and consistently funny.
Oh. I thought this was about The Club.![]()
I just watched the last 2 episodes, but it's pretty good
I love it. I happened upon it randomly as well and got the whole family hooked. Ted Danson is the best at this point. I think it'll take a while to develop too, but hopefully it'll get there.
But, then again, I do have a soft spot for awkward Jewish guys (Jason Swartzman).
I was some how getting free HBO until that digital switchover![]()
the episode where danson tries to get in touch with his "feminine side" is the best...love how they make him smoke pot too, his character lives the good life.
you would like the one where they get high in the car. You should suggest a brownie episode.
Danson has been the ever since Becker. The rest of the show isn't as strong, but I still watch it sporadically. Not quite appointment television at this point.
Is anyone still watching this? I've caught the first 2 episodes of this season so far and I still love it. I swear Ted Danson is the greatest thing on TV----"George" is totally over the top and bringing it big time![]()
Schwartzman is always solid. I need to finally check this out.
I didn't think there were any Phantom Planet fans out there.
Are the seasons on DVD? We got rid of HBO opting for Showtime right after the first season. I loved it. I'd love to catch the last however many seasons on DVD.
I love this show. The most recent episode left me laughing out loud several times.
Lulz. Hey, "California" and "Lonely Day" are also (relatively) solid.
This show is enjoyable enough but I find it to be the TV equivalent of cotton candy.
Community is the best comedy on TV right now but nobody watches it![]()
After the bull Arrested Development was put through i said it to network comedies
I'd go with League or Louie
The first few shows of the new season have been ballin'
I swear I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did when that lady said "Big Black Of Time".
