Nonprofit groups aided by Spurs Foundation

The San Antonio Spurs Foundation has announced $75,000 in grants to nine nonprofit organizations in San Antonio.
The recipient organizations this season are Family Violence Prevention Services Inc., San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Antonio, Respite Care of San Antonio, Palmer Drug Abuse Program, the San Antonio Food Bank, Young Women’s Christian Association, San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind and St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home.
The Spurs started the foundation in 1988 to support youths with physical, emotional and economic needs. It has donated more than $13 million to area programs since its formation, the Spurs said.
