After seeing him play for Macabbi a couple of games, I immediately understood Ainge made a mistake by letting him go. Great change-of-pace guard to bring off the bench.
The last month i have been keeping an eye on him .. man this guys attacks the rim with ferocity.. i never though he was the athletically gifted. Just watch what he did to tyson chandler . damn he threw it HARD.

Like his aggressiveness and attack mentality.
Still a complete and total blackhole of a ballhog.
Definitely a pros-vs-cons when watching him. He does make things happen, that's for sure, and often it's positive. But it does get annoying watching him dribble the clock down just for him to take a contested two point jumper because he thinks it's the best shot.

That's why he needs to be coming off the bench in limited minutes, providing a scoring punch, some steals and fastbreaks for a 2nd unit and an adrenalin injection. In that role, the positives outweigh the negatives. As a starter, he's a net negative.
At least he makes that shot which is more than I can say for Rodney Stuckey. He also leads the team in assists playing 28 minutes a night. I think he's a great back-up guard and I can't wait for him and Ben Gordon to lead the charge off the bench (when Rip Hamilton comes back).
seeing how well the 3 guard rotation is working Stuck/Gordon/Bynum i think it will be much easier for Joe D to trade Rip now if only there were some takers giving up expiring contracts

Rip would spread the floor and he would be the best option for the quick-attack offense the Pistons have preached (and have yet to show). Hamilton, in his only game this season, did a fantastic job of keeping spacing on the floor for Ben Gordon (who scored 22 points in 26 minutes with a 22-point margin in the win-column). I also like that Prince and Hamilton fed off of Ben Wallace's energy in that game.
I don't want to see the Pistons stick with these players for a full season. Keep in mind they are only at .500 and the schedule has been light on contenders. They have lost to Milwaukee, Toronto, Orlando, and Oklahoma City. They have yet to play Boston, Phoenix, Miami, San Antonio, New Orleans, the Lakers, Cleveland and so forth.
Prince is expendable, but Rip is not. Despite the glut on paper, the Pistons would be a better team with Hamilton in the lineup.

Was any college coach better at identifying 6-foot or under talent than Lute Olson? Steve Kerr, Damon and Salim Stoudamire, Jason Gardner and, though he transferred, Will Bynum. You can throw Nic Wise into the mix as well, because even though he was coached only one season by Lute, he was recruited by Olson as a junior higher.
