I say play him just as they did tonight. This was a good game, he was just on fire.
Contain him and half the battle is won. Haislip was acquired supposedly because he was familiar with guarding Euro-Bigs..

Dirk had a great game, but even with his big plays, we still could have easily won had there been a cleaner game..
Poor rebounding in big moments, way too many turnovers, a lot of bad decisions..
Turnovers were a killer. Too much Finley too, but overall I thought the plan of going at Dirk one on one really limited their other players. Spurs just have to find a way to deny him the ball more.
Dirk is an Euro-Big, but certainly does not play like one anymore.
Make him beat us alone IMO. Other guys get less involved. The problem was us passing to the Mavs instead of ourselves.
How about play Bogens on him more, how ya like that?
i think Dise was doing solid job on him, i still think Duncan should guard him in the fouth

Agree! Also, if we could get Stephen Jackson that will give us the best matchup against the Mavs.
Haislip is garbage.
I think we did a decent job on him. Dyess and Bonner both made him work for his shots.
I'll tell you what not to do: stick Matt Bonner on him while he goes off for 10-12 points and say "oh well at least Matt hits 3s"
I like McDyess on Nowitzki. He just had a of a game. i would trust McDyess on dirk 1on1 for long stretches
but if it gets too out-of-control you have to double team him. i'd also throw different defenders at him, like bogans and duncan
It looks like fans have gotten over Bowen.. would have expected some "bring back Bruce" comments at least..
