more and more voters are forgetting about W-L records. it shows sabermetrics taking over. he deserved it, but he had a weak finish like wainright. but then again carpenter missed the 1st month of the season so his innings sucked
Lots of people thought it was going to one of the cardinals aces in wainwright or carpenter but lince edged them out. One of the closest ballots ever, lincy got 100 points, carpenter 94 points and wainwright 90 points. I'm stoked being a big giants fan and think even though his W-L ratio wasn't the tops he was overall the best pitcher considering Ks, BAA, ERA, and WHIP. Carp prob would've won it if he didn't miss games in the beginning giving lincy around a 30 overall IP over carpenter. Lincy deserves it.
