Being anywhere near a bear who has become too accustomed to humans is a bad place to be. When you run into black bears in the wild, they're usually scared of humans though (for what reason, I'll never know). I'm not sure about grizzlies.

I'm kinda surprised that the greatest reaction in his defense was someone throwing an apple at the bear.

Kinda looks like everytime they throw something at the Bear and hits him he gives that dude an extra little rip, tear, head shake.
That guy probably did something stupid but at the same time it's difficult to watch a human being fed on like a piece of meat, especially while he's still alive.
I wonder if they guy survived, because it looked like he wasn't going to be around much longer and there was no help on the horizon. He'd only lasted as long as he had because that Bear hadn't gone for his head or neck yet. That's probably an extremely long time to be attacked by a bear and still be alive.

BERN, Switzerland – A bear has attacked a man who entered its enclosure at a new park in Switzerland, and a policeman opened fire on the animal to defend the intruder.
Police say the 25-year-old man and the 3-year-old bear both were injured on Saturday at Bear Park in the city of Bern. The small park, which opened last month, provides two bears with hill slopes, grasslands, a river and a cave.
Police say the mentally handicapped man climbed onto a wall surrounding the park and fell 4 meter (13 feet) into the bears' enclosure. One of the bears responded by attacking the man, injuring his head and one leg.
A nearby policeman shot at the bear, injuring it and forcing it to retreat into the cave.
The bear was being treated at the park and the man at a nearby hospital.
