New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul back at practice; game return near
    By Jimmy Smith, The Times-Picayune
    December 03, 2009, 2:44PM

Injured New Orleans Hornets All-Star guard Chris Paul, who has missed eight games since severely spraining his left ankle on Nov. 13, returned to full practice contact on Thursday, opening the possibility of a return perhaps Friday night.

The Hornets host the Minnesota Timberwolves at New Orleans Arena on Friday night.

"I think the best part of it was just actually being back out here," Paul said after practicing at the Alario Center. "It wasn't the greatest but I played through some of the pain."

Hornets Coach Jeff Bower said he was encouraged by what he saw, terming Paul's workout his most strenuous since sustaining the injury.

"I'm really encouraged with everything he was able to do and take part in," Bower said, adding he'd check with Paul on Friday morning to see if Paul suffered any setbacks in his progress following Thursday's work. "We'll not rule anything out."

Chris Paul has 16 points, 15 assists, 6 rebounds, and 8 steals so far in his return game. Not bad for someone who isn't even a top 5 guard in the league

Parker 3 les and a finals MVP
Not to say he is better but he is already more accomplished where it counts as a PG (winning les) then any of the below:

    Kidd 0 les 0 MVPS
Nash 2 (controversial) MVPS but never even made it to the finals
Paul zilch at this point and his team is a disaster under his leadership - Paul is a great stat king but win something or at least get to a finals before calling him truly great!

When it counts Paul has failed to produce in the playoffs so do not annoint him Point God yet. IMO Paker and D.Williams
(When healthy, D. Williams may be potentially best of all the young guards in total game) bring just as much to the table for what their teams need and Parker has unlike Paul proved himself on the highest stage!

You forgot about Paul's MVP award he won two seasons ago...ooops my bad, it was given to a rapist out of sheer pity.

Paul is a fabulous player but his ego is unreal - wake me when he wins even a single important playoff series.
