The entire AFC is just weak this season. Really weak. The Colts are the best in the AFC, but to be honest they're not all that impressive (besides Peyton). Probably an 11-5 or 12-4 caliber team taking advantage of a very weak AFC.

Both conferences are weak this year, that's why as you've said even New England still has a small chance, albeit a very small one. I can't remember a season where not one single team has an elite defense, but this year, I can't think of a single defense that stands out as elite.
