Illegal screens is an illegal basketball move that will be called by the refs if they see it. rocketfan seems mad at 116-76
On AM 790 with Matt and Adam, Donaghy says refs were given instruction to concentrate on Yao Ming and his "illegal screens".
Matt asked if there was any "smoke to the fire" regarding that series before that response.

Refs were unfairly calling Yao on everything in that series and Dirk was getting away with murder.
Doesn't matter anymore.....games are tainted every year, alas Joey Crawford
Here is the Matt and Adam Podcast from Dohnaghy

Yao was setting moving screens and the Mavs asked the League Office to start calling it. 116-76.
JVG is vindicated! Does this mean Stern gives Van Gundy his $100,000 back?
Well it wasn't that bad guys; the past is history. Stern never liked us. He made TMac the scapegoat for all of his team's failures.
We all know that Stern loves his Lakers. We thing we should be complaining is that Lakers vs Kings WCF series. There is indisputable evidence that that series was tainted. With this new evidence of tainted rising, I wouldn't be surprised if Stern plainly told the refs to make the Kings lose.
Dohnaghy says that the book will vindicate Houston fans. He says the instructions were given to officials to target Yao Ming. Says that players and coaches know what is going on but are muzzled and do not want to be fined.
You think he's going to favor a team with Mark Cuban at the head over any other team?
So are you implying that the refs were cheating for Dallas by calling legitimate fouls?
We all know David Stern's ultimate goal is to keep basketball small and exclusive to the United States. That's why he would want to destroy the team that has the biggest international basketball star ever.
For setting illegal screens. No different than if the officials were told to watch Shaq for the elbow he uses to clear space, or Tim Duncan using his hand to hold opponents down at the waist so he can block their shots, or Lebron James for traveling.
They are all illegal tendencies that each player tends to get away with, and they were just told to focus on Yao's because they were getting way out of hand.
When all of this information comes out into the light of day, I just hope that Stern and the NBA clean their acts up.
Hey, it's Rocket fan. If they can somehow successfully turn their computers on, they've accomplished a lot.
We didn't start the thread about a 5 year old series where a center got called for legitimate fouls. We're just mocking it.
LOL
it was a first round series, not the WCF. The Rockets would have been ed in the 2nd round by the Suns just like the Mavs were.
a series like the 06 Finals can generate some real frustration.![]()
Yes, we all want a world where legitimate fouls aren't called anymore.
