Not that surprising in regards to the NBA, but a pleasant one counting all 4 major sports: MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA.

tossup between with the lakers...
even though they made more finals appearance this decade than the spurs, but missin the playoffs 2x really hurts them as much as losin 2 finals......
10yrs of consistency where every year we couldve won it all is nice....
Teams were measured by equal parts on-field performance and financial valuation growth since 2000.
This only comes as a surprise due to people giving the spurs credit, not the spurs deserving it (which they obviously do)
ahh go ahead and have your victory party with an extreme right wing magazine
will do Lakers999. While you're at it, you can watch some more fox news too.
Why am I not surprised?
Looked at Espn.com, Sports Illustrated, and NBA.com, and the only thing they mention of the Forbes list is the Lakers are the most valuable. No mention of the team of the decade.
yeah, especially that they are talking about sports, not the NBA
http://www.forbes.com/2009/12/04/bes...ade-teams.htmlThrow in a dash of luck--winning the 1997 NBA draft lottery to land future Hall of Fame big man Tim Duncan--and their consistent approach has resulted in a modern dynasty. After a 1999 NBA championship, San Antonio has gone on to win more than 70% of its games since 2000, while capturing three more les. Financially, the club's value has grown 146% since then to $415 million, helped along by a move into the lucrative AT&T Center in 2002.
The Spurs' performance on the court combined with their performance in the revenue column is what has given them the edge over the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and their in-state NBA rival Dallas Mavericks. The Red Wings have averaged 114 points per season and won two Stanley Cups since 2000 and the Mavs have seen their value more than triple while winning 69% of their games on top of making the playoffs every year.
this got so meaningless as soon as i see the mavs at # 3
Gotta follow the $$ signs.
