Dude and the spurs haters, please tell me a reason why Timmy doesn't deserve 12 all star appearances?

Great job by Timmy carrying the load for the Spurs.. but he's going to need help. Re hi field goal percentage, could it be that Timmy doesn't command the double-team the way he used to and teams are more willing to defend him one-on-one? Defenses can shut down the perimeter shooters and TD needs to have a big scoring night.

Duncan is playing at MVP level.
He really is. Taking minutes/game into account, this is his best statistical season since 2001/2002.

In 40 MPG that season he averaged 25/12.7/3.7/2.5(blk)

If we take his 32.1 MPG this season and use some math skills to make it 40 MPG his averages would be 25/13/4/2.6.

Not just stats determine an MVP and anyone who has watched Spurs games this year knows Tim is the only thing keeping this team from being so far.

    He's got my vote.

Kind of surprising he isn't getting as many votes.

Dirk has been stellar also. I ain't mad at that....i guess.

As long as Timmy gets some recognition that is all that matter.

Everyone knows it's bull , how many time did o'neal or vince carter get voted to start when they missed the whole 1st half of the season. The fans are ing re which is why shaq continues to be voted in. And why he got so many votes when he 1st came into the league. When Robinson, olajuwon, even mutombo were better than.

Last time I checked, McGrady was a starter.

The All star game voting system is a farce.

As for Duncan, if he goes on dominating games like he is doing lately,
teams will start to send systematic double coverage pretty soon, as in the good old days.
That's when the others will have to take advantege of the extra freedom.

Duncan is playing at MVP level.
He's in the conversation this week. Hit the link for the notes on the rest.

    Race to the MVP
    By Frank Hughes, for NBA.com

    10. Tim Duncan, Spurs (13-10)
G MPG PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% 3P% FT%
    21 32.1 20.1 10.6 3.3 0.5 2.1 .554 .000 .766
    Last Week: n/a | Drafted:
We have to go with Tim Duncan over Kevin Durant for the final spot. While Durant's Thunder have lost three in a row, including a loss to Dallas in which Durant had 12 points and four turnovers, Duncan just keeps plugging along at a high level of play. He is averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, and just because he is not flashy does not mean he should be forgotten. Almost healthy, the Spurs have won four of five, putting Duncan back in the upper echelon of players.

    9. Tyreke Evans, Kings, (11-13)
    8. Steve Nash, Suns (17-9)
    7. Brandon Roy, Trail Blazers (16-11)
    6. Dwyane Wade, Heat (13-11)
    5. Dwight Howard, Magic (19-7)
    4. Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks (19-7)
    3. Carmelo Anthony, Nuggets (19-7)
    2. LeBron James, Cavaliers (19-7)
    1. Kobe Bryant, Lakers, (20-4)

Terrible list by Frank Hughes. Because of the relatively unimpressive record of the Spurs to date, I have no problem with Duncan being 6th. But 6th is as low as he should be when you consider that he's been easily a top 4 player in the league this season (no particular order: James, Duncan, Anthony, Bryant, followed by Nowitzki/Nash). Evans, Roy and yes, even Wade, have no business being ranked ahead of him.

It's as if people just had it in their minds after his being slowed by tendonosis post All-Star break last season that he's declined significantly and nothing he does will change their minds on that.
