Fred Jackson was hit with a $5,000 fine by the NFL for his eye black. Jackson puts his eye black on to read ‘D-3′ in honor of all Division III college athletes having been one himself.

“I’ve been wearing my eye black like that for three years now and they tell me in Week 16 of year three,” said Jackson.

The Bills running back intends to appeal the fine.
Lmao...it's not the amount of the fine that is ridiculous, its the fact that there is one. I can understand if its something offensive, but it's not. How they can even try to justify this is beyond me.

Its just so dumb. Its not even him trying to have fun really...its just a shoutout to all D-3 players, who aren't normally ever talked about. Its his way of showing theres still some pretty good talent at that level. Fine makes no sense.

I meant that in an wholistic comment...the dude made it against the odds and is in the big time. The league, and sports in general, need to step back and stop living in a pre-1960's thought process when it comes to self-expression and voice.
