Hopefully Arenas doesn't fire off any bad shots.
San Antonio Spurs @ Washington Wizards
6:00 PM Central / 7:00 PM Eastern
TV: Fox Sports Southwest, Comcast SportsNet, NBALP
RADIO: WOAI
The San Antonio Spurs visit the D.C. fresh off of their hottest win of the season, and look to continue their late-December momentum into the new year. The Washington Wizards are mired in troubles both on and off the court, with the team having fallen into the cellar of the East, losing 7 of their last 10, and their franchise player recently testing out his best T.I. impersonation in the team locker room. The Spurs should be able to pick up an easy one here, but they better come ready to play. Flip Saunders has pretty much called it open season on the bench and Wizards will be playing for their minutes, so the Spurs need to be ready for those early punches.

Hopefully Arenas doesn't fire off any bad shots.
Spurs will win i just placed $500 on a W
now we know why they were called the Bullets
Oh, you bring back memories. I used to watch Knicks-Bullets games in the 60s on WOR-TV (we got it on cable in upstate NY). They were the Baltimore Bullets then.
At home games, they had this god-awful tape of a gun firing a shot and a huge ricochet sound, and they'd play it every time the Bullets made a field goal. It was truly, truly annoying.
Anyone knows how much more time till it starts? I live in Singapore, so I am confused by the time there.
That would be 8:00 AM in Singapore time. ~40 minutes.
Can someone confirm whether or not Gilbert is playing?
Not sure. Saunders reported soreness in his knee yesterday, but I don't think there's been an official change yet. My bet is he will play. Maybe he's just trying to "soldier up".
I want arenas to play on a sore knee.
Is the game in HD in SA? I see the game on FOXSW ch 31 Grandecom "expanded cable", but their TV listing doesn't show the HD listing.
can someone help me out with a link to this game? I moved to south carolina where none of there games get played here.
I hope the Spurs don't get distracted by all the controversy surrounding the Wizards and just play their game. No complacency, the Blazers' game should be seared into their collective consciousness. They need to put up another 48 minutes of solid BB.
sore knee = we are trying to void his contract ...
ok lets get this and lets get this quick ... want to see some haislip at the end again.
Mike Monroe: Arenas isn't playing tonight ... allegedly because of sore left knee
Mike Monroe: Well, we just got handed the starting lineups and Arenas IS playing
No headlines - no problem for the Spurs
MIKE MONROE
Sometimes, being the most boring team in the NBA is a very good thing.
The contrast between the Spurs and the Washington Wizards, rocked this week by an incident of alleged gunplay in the team locker room between teammates Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton, was stark in the 90 minutes before tipoff of Saturday’s game at Verizon Center.
The Spurs quietly went about their business of preparing for the game, some players shooting on the game court, others watching videotape in the locker room.
Down the hall, as several Wizards walked towards their practice court for a pre-game workout, one of them shouted, “Pow, there’s another shot.”
It was a joke, of course, but the other Wizards players didn’t seem to think it too funny.
Spurs guard Roger Mason Jr., who spent two seasons with the Wizards, said he wasn’t really surprised at the recent allegations.
“Unfortunately, I’m not surprised, and even more so, I’m very disappointed to tell you the truth,” Mason said. “Even though we’re all human and we all make mistakes, there are some things that aren’t acceptable, and this is one of them. It’s very disappointing.
“At the same time, you don’t want to rush to judgment. You want to let the process unfold first, but if the rumors are true about it then I’d say I’m very disappointed.
“As an athlete you have a responsibility. We all mistakes. Nobody’s perfect, but some things are just inexcusable, and if that’s true, that’s one of them.”
How have the Spurs managed to avoid all manner of off-the-court controversy during the 12-plus seasons Gregg Popovich has been the head coach?
“At the risk of sounding self-righteous,” Popovich said, “I’m just going to say we’ve been fortunate, and I’m going to leave it at that.”

Yahoo Box Score has Arenas starting...
Found it, Grandecom 348
A team like the Wizards is a very dangerous opponent right now..they're wounded, their coach just called them out, and they need to W to get some attention away from the negativity..
The Spurs have to take them seriously tonight..
This is a team that is hyped up in the off-season, and yet they are not even in the playoff picture and add in all the off court issues. You sort of feel sad for Wizards fans.
If Spurs' shots are falling, no problem, esp if the Spurs play some defense.
