The jazz gonna sign Rafer?? possibly lol
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgnsRafer Alston(notes) has agreed to a contract buyout with the New Jersey Nets and the Miami Heat have emerged as a frontrunner to sign the point guard after he clears waivers, sources told Y! Sports on Wednesday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have also expressed interest in Alston.
Alston came to New Jersey in the Vince Carter(notes) trade in June, but has been anxious to flee the 3-30 Nets to play for a contender. Heat president Pat Riley had identified Alston earlier this season as a veteran point guard who could help stabilize his backcourt, sources said. Still, several other contenders are believed to have an interest in Alston.
Don Nelson will pick him up and play him at small forward.
The Pistons should pick him up...that will put them over the top
Wonder is this means the Kris Humphries and Shawne Williams for Najera trade will happen? Who knows
That would be my assumption.
for those who haven't seen it:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_yl...yhoo&type=lgnsDiscussions for a trade that would’ve exchanged Eduardo Najera(notes) for Kris Humphries(notes) and Shawne Williams(notes) are “on life support,” a league source said, because the New Jersey Nets have been unable to clear a roster spot to make it happen. New Jersey had hoped the Dallas Mavericks would add some money to the deal to allow them to buy out Williams’ contract, but the Nets haven’t been able to make a roster move. They tried to trade former first-round pick Josh Boone(notes) to Denver for Joey Graham(notes) and his non-guaranteed deal as a precursor to the Dallas deal, but those talks dried up, too.
yeah it would be my assumption as well, but with trades you can never tell till they actually happen. Half the trades talked about never happen
more like 90 percent of all trades talked about are bunk!
That's true Jazzy. Many of the rumors are just ridiculous.
true true.

First trade of 2010: Nets get Chris Quinn, cash and 2012 second-rounder from Miami in exchange for heavily protected 2010 second-round pick
Nets used a trade exception -- they have two -- to take back Quinn's $1 million salary without needing to send a player to the Heat
Miami could thus shave nearly $600,000 off luxury-tax bill even after signing Alston, which everyone expects now that Nets bought Rafer out
Rafer Alston for the teardrop. There it goes! Heading straight for the bucket.....
CLUNK!
Miami already has Arroyo and Chalmers. Why would the Nets take Quinn?
