The same book that resulted in Reid's apology has another nugget about former President Bill Clinton:

    Teddy's anger

[A]s Hillary bungled Caroline, Bill’s handling of Ted was even worse. The day after Iowa, he phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.
I wonder if we'll get a response from Clinton's Harlem office...

Democrats aren't racists, they're just a compassionate bunch that believes blacks wouldn't be able to compete if it weren't for Democrats.

It is, after all, the party of Robert "Sheets" Byrd.

There's nothing inherently racist about saying a guy would be getting one coffee in the context of a political campaign. I guess you can try to project your racism onto Clinton if you want.

In his apology, Reid said, "I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words."

Which leads one to wonder, what would have been a better choice of words to say Barack Obama can get elected because he's a black man that doesn't look or sound black?

Sure. Just say he's telegenic and articulate or well-spoken.

    Palin 'doesn't know anything'
According to the book, aides to Republican nominee John McCain described the difficulties they faced with their vice presidential pick, then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser to McCain, is quoted telling Palin's foreign policy tutors: "You guys have a lot of work to do. She doesn't know anything."

While flying home to Alaska to see her son off to war, she told her team: "I wish I'd paid more attention to this stuff."

At another point, she is quoted as saying she would not have accepted the vice presidential nomination if she had understood the burden.
    from the same book....

so this MUST be true also..

but, but, but spursandcowboys and jackie would vote for her..

^ From that same story- her moronic ass couldn't even remember Biden's last name. After repeatedly correcting her to no avail, her handlers just had to give up and have her call him Joe (since ostensibly, three letters was all she could handle). Hence the whole 'can I call you Joe' thing. And she STILL accidentally referred to him as O'Biden afterwards.

So yeah, Palin supporters, STFU about what any other politician, anywhere, says wrong. You supported the single dumbest candidate in the history of American politics. You get to say nothing about anyone else.

back to the topic at hand...

it should be, or at least a wake-up call, for any politician to be deeply introspective and possibly step down.

anyways, reid is pretty damn useless as leadership material, so maybe he should step down as majority leader or at least offer to not run this year. that way he could either make room for a real progressive (senate majority leader franken has a pretty nice ring to it) to lead or even vote in the senate.

eh, Reid is a chump, but in terms of lightening rods for criticism, this liberal would much rather rid the Democrats of Pelosi. It's too much to hope that they both go. Probably too much to hope that even one goes. Damn.

But oh well, as American's everywhere know, it beats Delay, Frist, et al...

You and I get the dignity of saying that though. We didn't try to elect a stone cold moron to 'be in charge of the senate'. Anyone who did has no business reaching such a conclusion.

    LMAO wow! You got problems.

And wtf you mean that he doesn't look black?? If you saw him walking towards you as a normal citizen, I guarantee you would think him a black guy. What the else does he look like? White?? Mexican??

But I guess it must be confusing to people like Reid and yourself because he's an articulate speaker so he can't be black. Do you think Martin Luther King is something other than black? Serious question.

The right-wing noise, hate, and distraction choir resurrects this screw-up now (and their ST devotees chirp in on queue). Why now? How (AZ) negro votes will this cost Reid?
