How can he do 69 at his age?
Timmy is only 69 points away from 20,000 points. He should be able to accomplish this either at New Orleans or at home in Utah. After this milestone Duncan will join the small group of 15 players who have collected 20,000 points and 10,000 rebounds in their NBA career.
How can he do 69 at his age?
How can he do 69 at his height?
that's what i'm talking about![]()
Well he can attempt it standing...
You think that 4-down without a ball movement would make it?
it seems like in most cases of a career spanning 15 years or less the career averages seem to match the career totals. 21/11 and 20/10
For anyone that may have missed Duncan's response to the milestone.
Duncan: 'It means I'm getting old'
By Jeff McDonald
Spurs centerpiece Tim Duncan, who needs 94 points to join the NBA's 20,000 point club, was asked before Monday's practice if the impending milestone meant anything to him.
Anything at all.
"It means I've been playing a long time. It means I'm old. It means I'm closer to the end than to the beginning," Duncan said, beginning to chuckle. "It means a lot of things that are negative more than positive."
Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki needs 19 points to reach 20,000. Assuming Nowitzki beats him there, Duncan would be the 35th player in NBA history to hit that plateau.
Pressed, Duncan admitted the accomplishment might mean something to him -- someday.
"It''ll mean something after I'm done," Duncan said. "Looking back on it, it will mean something. Right now, you're in the midst of things. It's hard to see it as an accomplishment or anything else."
Dirk will get to 20,000 faster then Duncan but Duncan will be 1 of the 3 players who are active in the NBA today to have 20,000 points and 10,000 rebounds. The other two being Shaq and KG.
Timmy is only 36 points away. Meaning that he will most likely recieve the standing ovation at home when the spurs face Utah. Unless timmy drops 36 at NO.
more of a scoff that Dirk reached this before Duncan

The day i get At&t center is the day Timmy gets 20000 points
is it just my wishful thinking?
sounds similar to the things dirk stated after he reached 20k points (after the lakers games).
for those guys individuall accomplishments are obviosly only a afterthougt, contrary to what fans assume. a thing you can tell your kids when your old and done.
championships are the only important things at their stage of the career.
(but i bet it's a big difference to aim for the first or the fifth )
Well, let's all just hope he hits 20,000 after the Hornets game.
20,000 of anything is a whole lot.
It would really suck if he gets it at the Hive but there are 6 home games after the Hornets so he should get it at home.
In TD's defense Dirk shoots a ton of 3's though, Duncan doesnt....unless it's in a clutch situation![]()

Sorry for people at the AT&T Center but I would like he hits 20.000 in New Orleans.Looking our team the last 2 games it can't be bad for us if he scoes 40 or 50.
With no more Tyson Chandler, don't rule it out!
I'll take the rebounds with the points any day.
In TD's defense Dirk is a of a good player, one of the best offensive bigs ever. TD's also shot significanly fewer shots than Dirk to get to 20k, at least from the field.
Technically Timmy is reaching 2 milestones.
20,000 points and 20,000 and 10,000 rebounds.
Only 15 players ever have gotten 20,000 and 10,000.
so it's like 15 points left, am I right? it will be in 3q vs. Jazz ding dong, i guess
Yup, 15 away now.
