I bought a new PS3. It's my first Sony console since Santa brought me the original PS-X back in the nineties.

I bought the God of War collection since I never had the chance to play either one more than a few minutes and it was decently cheap (plus I'm pretty sure the new PS3s aren't backwards compatible)

I only have cash left for one 'marquee priced' PS3 only game - any suggestions? I'm torn between demon's souls and uncharted 2 since those are the most popular/critically acclaimed PS exclusives, but I'm sure I'm missing other gems (right? lol).

GoW is the shizzzzzz, nice buy there.

Demon Souls: I ahvent played it but it looks tight. I am sure you can get 60+ hours out of that.

DRake's Fortune: Just a spectacle of a game. If you have any interest in blockbuster movies/games, where a studio pulls all the stops because they know they have a marketable sequel, thenthis is it for gaming. If you liked the first one, this one is ing awesome.

...and really, I cant name another game that isnt cross platform. But know this, GoW3 is now on your hitlist, and it being a BluRay player, its a fine purchase.

Having neither played or even seen either, my 2 cents would be to get Demon's Souls. Probably less fun, would definitely be more rewarding.

Yeah, I've played a couple hours and it's awesome. I had played before but now I truly understand. It's quite addictive and the updated graphics don't look stunning but good. The upgrading is the something reused often but makes for that addiction to killing.

I'm definitely leaning that way. GoW can appease my bloodthirst for action right now. We'll see. I still haven't done much except watch a couple trailers.

I haven't played the first one, but I'll look into this one. Thanks.

Yeah, knowing the PS3 would allow me to finally see Blu-rays as well as upscale my current movies was actually the bigger part of the reason why I bought one in the first place, as opposed to being a gaming peripheral - but the fact it is a gaming system made quite a difference in convincing me whether to save for it at all. Plus I can replay Final Fantasy 7/8 for pretty cheap and that's going to be a lot of fun as well.

Yeah I pounced on a PS3 too. Bestbuy was offering the 160GB older model plus three games (new Ratchet, LBP: GOTY, and Uncharted 1) for 299.99. They oversold it online so they had to give my the 250GB new one .

I then traded LBP for Uncharted 2, which I hear is an unbelievable game.

I also got Terminator 2 Blu-Ray over the holidays, and it's just incredible to watch.

Uncharted is an amazing game. Haven't played Demons Soul, so I cant really comment on it. I will say for any new PS3 owners that Metal Gear 4 is a must buy, and Gamestop has it for around 20 bucks. The Chronicles Of Rid game is pretty cool too and you can get it for around 20 bucks as well.

Damn that is nice. I'm feeling a little buyer's remorse only because I didn't look around for an older model with the PS2 hardware (didn't care at all initially). Hopefully they get their together soon with the PS2 emulation but with PS2 still selling and at a cheap price, something tells me that won't happen for some time still.

I'm really feeling Killzone 2 now as well. Also, resistanze reminded me of LittleBigPlanet which is an ingenius game.

Yeah I wanted the older Ps3 because I like how it looks more and for the PS2 backwards compatibility. But the slim look has grown on me and I already have a working slim PS2 if I feel nostalgic.

I really want Killzone 2 and inFamous. So far I have Resistance 2, Both Ratchets, MGS4, and Uncharted 1 & 2. The funny part is I probably won't have time to play all of these until the summer.

Love Uncharted. Best, most engaging game I've played in years.

And Little Big Planet is great, too, as long as you always have someone to play with.

Yeah, the big bulky look isn't my thing, but I'd trade the look for some PS2 hardware. Ah well, doesn't matter now. I'm sure some sort of 'legal' and effective PS2 emulation will rear its head. Plus, while many people didn't have this problem, my xbox only has the smallest HDD in line (less than 12 GB), while the PS3 has 120GB.. I still have like 45 albums on my xbox but the PS3's gonna get everything I got and more.

demon's Souls is my pick for now, will probably grab that one tomorrow afternoon. MGS4 is next due to cheapness, then I'll probably go for killzone and the Uncharted series.

And yeah, my 360 didn't go anywhere I still have another 50 hours I could put in FO3 without blinking. I also wanted to replay and beat every Final Fantasy before 13 is released.. I have 1-8 right now but need 9 for the PS1 and then figure something out for the PS2 releases (10/12).

    already bought it for xbox

and demons souls is unrelenting ... game is very fun, then just pisses you off for a while, still fun, then gets very fun again til you fight a boss who murders you in a single hit and makes you wonder why the developers hate their fans/the living/full life bars so much.
