this would be good for the celtics.Rondo and ellis in the back court would tear up any team.If the celtics do it, they have no class for dumping a guy who helped them get a chamipship and has been their most consistent player this year.since the celtics dont have any class i expect this trade to go through

Don’t Trust Every Rumor You Hear
    SportingNews

Last night, NBA fans were treated to a rumor straight from the Trade Machine, one involving a contender and a doormat.

    From CSNNE.com:

While the Celtics have maintained repeatedly that they have no intentions of moving any of their core guys between now and the Feb. 18 trading deadline—and I believe ‘em on this one— multiple league sources confirmed today that the Golden State Warriors are giving some thought to putting together a trade package that would involve Monta Ellis going to Boston in exchange for Allen.

This is totally ridiculous. Yes, Allen has an expiring contract, and Monta hasn’t always been happy in Golden State. But losing Ray would leave the Celtics without a shooter, and while the Warriors are very stupid, they care about PR more than anything and aren’t about to trade the team’s most popular player. Thankfully, Warriors beat reporter Marcus Thompson quickly got word that the rumors were hogwash.

Good, I’m glad we settled that. This rumor is an important reminder that at least half of the rumors you’ll hear before the trade deadline are unchecked junk, the sort of speculation that gets drummed up when people have too much time to kill.

Peter Vecsey and Sam Smith are the most high-profile offenders, but the problem runs deep. So tread lightly, don’t believe anything if it’s not reported by at least two reporters, and only trust those who’ve proven they should be trusted. Otherwise, you’ll be running around like a chicken with its head cut off, unsure why your team is ready to deal a promising youngster for new socks.
