    Assuming:
    1. Spurs lose to the teams with winning record for the rest of the season, and
    2. Spurs lose on back-to-backs

Spurs final record will be 37-45 and miss the playoff. I am readying myself to cry a river!

it's not necessary to have a 37-45 refcirdo, for missing the play offs...probably a 45-37 record won't be enough...that's why ther's a real chance to miss the playoffs, considering our difficult schedule.

Things are working out to make it more likely for the Spurs to make the playoffs, even if the second half is rough.

N.O. is without Paul for 2 months, they're done.

Houston is grinding itself down and is slipping further as the season goes along. They've put up a great fight, but unless they dump McGrady for some real pieces, they're pretty much done.

The only team out of the playoffs right now is Memphis, and there's no guarantee they keep up. And OKC, now at 8, could very well falter as the season comes to a close like many young teams do.

Wow, that's a bit too pessimistic for me. We'll make the playoffs for sure, im confident.

Even if that does happen (worst case scenario) there's still an upside: we'll get a higher draft pick (14th or better, I think). Then next year we'll add Splitter in addition to that draft pick, Blair will be in his 2nd year as will Jefferson (even if RJ doesn't improve, he'll be a valuable expiring contract next year). The worst case scenario isn't the end of the world or of the Spurs.

Man this REALLY is a pessimistic view. Doesnt work me, I say we make the playoffs at the 4th or 5th seed. Lakers in the 2nd round!

The only problem with our team is that we lose concentration and start playing bad ball, im just hoping in the playoffs that wouldn't happen and the random flashes of greatness we see in the regular season will become the norm rather than the exception

Personally, I'd rather take the higher draft pick. There's absolutely no incentive in going in as a 6th or 8th seed and enduring yet another 1st round exit. A better player via the draft would be yet another immediate infusion of talent and energy on an aging roster that needs as much as it can get.

Look at the life, energy and durability that Hill and Blair have provided. They're the only Spurs, to date, that have played in EVERY game so far.

I see the Spurs wininning around 50 games...the way they are playing currently, at the moment I think we will ba about the 5-6 seed but the west is so close this year who knows.

If we do miss the playoffs and get in the draft lottery we have had really good luck in the past with the ping-pong balls so it is not all bad.

    This.

Tony still gets to bang Eva, Manu still gets double duty on poop patrol, and Timmy......... is still Timmy.

And above all, none of the Spurs players are going to be wondering where their next rent check is coming from.

The horrendous schedule and Spurs' unendingly uneven play, averaging more bad than good, mean missing the playoffs is more probable than making them.

Unless they just quit or are ravaged by injury, no way they miss the playoffs. In fact, I would be shocked if they didn't challenge for the 4th seed.

Think about it. In the Duncan era, the Spurs have been legit contenders for the le every year except last year and 2000.

This team is going to get better, not worse. When this team heads into the playoffs, they are going to be exponentially better than they are right now. Compe ion makes you better and they have plenty of that coming up. As TD has stated in the past, he is a compe ion type guy.

    Believe in TD.

I think we'll make the playoffs either way, but a nice trade would elevate us..the only seeds that aren't available are #1 and #2..let's hope the FO makes the right move though..

I agree with slayermin, a lot of teams are not going to want to with us during the playoffs no matter the record.

The stretch from March 21st through April 4th is disturbing.
Therefore the importance early in the season to win games.

It was there. Staring at my face from the beginning of the season. The Spurs would need to have a good showing at the start of the season to help combat the end of season schedule.

I was hoping for a slightly better than .500 by the time December ended. Then hoping the team would have at least a 5-1 home stance record prior to the RRT.

This upcoming schedule is brutal for any team in the league much less one that is not above .600. And March is even worse than the RRT schedule.

If the Spurs can pull this one out with a winning record...Make the playoffs...They will have definately been battle tested more than any other team in the league prior to the playoffs starting.
