after hearing about how amazing mass effect 2 was by every gaming outlet, i bought it and started playing, its a great game but way too over hyped, i heard people call it the best game they ever played, game of the decade, game of the century. I still prefer fallout 3, way more interactive, and fun, for example in Fallout3 i can do anything to anyone, kill my partner i hired 5 seconds ago, steal from the overseer, eat rotting corpses. In Mass Effect 2 its far more limited, i cant tell you how many time i wish i could shoot my Krogan Teammate, but i cant. Mass Effect 2 is a great game but nothing revolutionary.

so which game do you like more

I think the poll should be Fallout 3 vs Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (yes, I know KOTOR is not an action RPG)
It'd be the best of Bethesda vs the best of Bioware imo.

If that was the case, I'd choose Star Wars. I'll take a linear, well-executed story, with great customization and a Light/Dark system over an open ended exploration game.

However, the way the poll is set up now, I'd go with Fallout 3.

I think there should be another genre for RPG that includes all the ES games (Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3) compared to (ME, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, etc.) call em BRPGs in honor of Bethesda. I'd go as far as saying they are the Zelda of WRPGs.

I haven't played ME2 yet, but I have three playthroughs in ME1 and I can say that I enjoyed my Fallout 3 experience more.

If ME2 isn't as good as ME1, I can assume FO3 is better than ME2.

I'll take Oblivion, ME1, DA:O and maybe Elder Scrolls 3 over it, too

for those who say that they played ME1, I admit that one sucked and i stop playing after 3 days. But ME2 is much improved and pretty addictive. It's a whole new experience and you guys should play it

Fallout 3, it's not even close.

Pretty much, those that voted for ME2 are those who don't like real RPGs

Also, FO3 is not Bethesda's best effort. Oblivion is

Never finished FO3. I am replaying ME1 right now, so no comment on ME2, either.

How much FO3 did you play? IMO it doesn't take much to see which game is superior. ME has FO beat on story and dialogue, but not on gameplay.

Put it this way, I never "beat" Oblivion either. I closed the first gate and never entered another gate ever. Too much other to do.

Same with FO3. I have always avoided wiki's and strat guides, so I cant even say where I am in the main storyline. Beyond that, I am not even sure I remember. I know I am maxed in level, but thats easy to do.

    Story-wise, ME>FO3. This isnt close.

As it were, I am the guy who said Dragon Age might be one of the better games ever made, yet I have only played through it twice. Not much different the second time, though I didnt choose another race (which was stupid).

    *spins wheel*

Fallout 3 over Mass Effect. Havent played ME2, never finished FO3 = Uninformed Opinion

Mass Effect 2 is great but there is a lot of room for improvement. I played ME2 two times already, but only because it's not a long game like Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

    Not necessarily.

I love RPGs, but picked ME2 over Fallout just because I'm so addicted to the storyline and characters.
